Looks like Mo was asleep and I was yawning. The pace of that train is therapeutically relaxing.

No wonder people didn't have heart attacks and lived long and prosperous lives.

Why was everyting nicer and better in ye goode olde dayse?

And why is everyone in such a hurry nowadays?

Oh, and you forgot to mention, that on the way back, we took the extremely unautoshite, posh first class.

Which reminded me of a Granada Ghia interior.

Shame you had to go early, Bubster - I had to duck out before the train ride too.  There'll be other ASMM shenanigans!

Nice to meet old faces too. Much love for hairnets and 6 cylinders little Citroen

Playing with my cheap printer/scanner combo and have got out the auction catalogue with hammer prices.

You would be very happy as a buyer, not so much as a seller.

Lot 29 - is it just me or does anyone else read that as Renault Scenic explosion?

Posted

I'll have a hundred quid Wira from that lot, but you're right - everything looks a bit cheap! How badly had the minimini been on its roof?

Pillars were straight, but dents on all over roof and bonnet, most likely, some fuckwit walked over it from end to end.

Now for the international competition of the weekend.

A group of shiters came together to make funny noises in front of a bemused international jury and tried not to end up looking like Germany.

220px-ESC2016_-_Germany_01.jpg

The seven catagories were

1. Must have less than 1400cc

2. Must have 4+ doors and an autobox

3. Must be either, have a tow bar or van or pickup

4. 2 doors only, -£200 bonus if a floppy top

5. Must have a turbo

6. Paint has no colour (White, black, silver, grey) and 16" or bigger wheels

7. 5 door estate or MPV

In reverse order with their lot numbers was:

8. Hiedel Kakao, £3500, 14 / 52 / 175 / 48 / 117 / 59 / 32 - James was doing fine till the pit trap of the all to new Mazda (lot 59) went on the list

7. Andy 18s, £3300, 35 / 52 / 171 / 37 / 43 / 506 / 11 - Andy (as did many others) went for the nice Volvo S60 (lot 506)  and paid the price

6. Chaseracer, £2570, 13 / 52 / 175 / 48 / 42 / 502 / 505 - Dave normally challenges for last place, but only his want for a properly fast Leon in the turbo selection (lot 42) let him down

4= DaidFowler2000, £2405, 124 / 506 / 505 / 48 / 33 / 128 / 12 - Dave found that hateful Bi-fuel Nissan Primeval (lot 128) for his colour shy sales rep (car 6)

4= Junkman, £2405, 118 / 506 / 123 / 98 / 43 / 128 / 18 - Christian found lot 123 (Rover 75) hidden at the back with a tow bar, Mo wanted to buy it and at £150 I couldn't fault his choice

3. Hairnet, £2235, 118 / 506 / 175 / 37 / 129 / 38 / 521 - How come Hairnet isn't Skidlid given he's a biker? Anyway he picked up penalty points for thinking that a 115hp, 2 litre, Golf GTI has a Turbo.

2. Conelrad, £1800, 14 / 52 / 505 / 118 / 4 / 128 / 42 - Peter is always strong at this game and only the giffertastic Jag XJ8 (lot 52) held him back from a win here

1. Sloth in a bowl, £1345, 124 / 119 / 123 / 37 / 4 / 2 / 3 - Julian yet again showed that, if you want to win at Autoshite then you have to buy French, the Rough looking Laguna (lot 2) being a prime example.

6cyl and Cleon-Fonte - sorry, I don't have your sheets, will double check the Puma and my pockets

I did not finish mine before the auction started and thought completing it once under way was cheating, so did not hand it it.

I arrived a bit too late to pick up a sheet from you. Considering how badly I misjudged how much everything would go for that's probably not a bad thing.

Balls I missed this. Otherwise engaged but do need to get down to that auction house soon.

Finally I have managed to get round to flushing out the camera from my 2 weeks off work so here's my motly selection of snaps from the May meet...

Starting with a visit to chaseracer's place to see* the Dyane...

Finally onwards to the auctions for much shennanigans. Noone knows who the Pug van belonged to. He was there at the breakfast and the auctions but noone talked to him...

After the auctions it turned in to a mini Shitefestâ„¢. You can blame hairnet for that seeing as I had left the keys in the Volvo after having opened some windows and he took it upon himself to go for a blezz round the car park. Anyways. Mr Cleon-Fonte was VERY enthusiastic a the prospect of a go in Mr 'net's LHD Visa. As was Mr Junkman...

Thx for the pics, I'm now more annoyed I missed this to go and "buy" a car where the seller used 2 year old pictures.
