There has been a 600 mile collection trip - and it wasn't even for a car

Today, the Granadaland Greenhouse Gassers set off for an epic* trip from Stockport all the way down to that Eastleigh in that Hampshire - and back - just to collect a bloody bicycle yours truly had acquired on that eBay.

Said bicycle is of Austrian manufacture, so I just owed it to myself.

The steed of choice was my haunted Rover and not a single inch of that godforsaken motorway was travelled.

On the trip darn sarf, we opted for the route via Shrewsbury, Gloucester, Swindon and Winchester.

The trip back included a blizzard on the A34 towards Oxford, then on to Nuneaton (the Toyota Avensis of towns), Bicester, Burton, Ashbourne, Leek and Macclesfield.

At the Jack Hills Cafe near Towchester (pronounced "toaster"?) on the A5 a superb afternoon tea was had. This location is highly recommended for some Shite gathering.

We encountered the usual oafs, moms delivering and then picking up their beloved little shitters to and from those governmental dumbing down institutes,

free range horses, a blizzard (with snow), a mad German truckee, white vans that tried to boyrace the haunted Rover (utterly futile), and all sorts of

other interesting stuff I meanwhile alzheimered.

The haunted Rover did not put a foot wrong during the entire trip, returned something in the neighbourhood of 26 OMGMPG,

it was one of the most agreeable days I had in long time, and yes, I definitely shit on everything modern.

You should have dropped by for a visit, Junkman! *Rover solidarity*.

Let me guess, you spent twice as much on fuel than the bicycle cost?

Heartily agreed.

Not just 'cause I can be there in under 10 minutes.

The bicycle is indeed a Puch.

The cost of petrol outstrips the amount paid for the bike at least 3:1.

But the trip was priceless.

Back the fuck up: you went hundreds of miles for a Puch Mini-Sprint and on Friday just gone I gave one away to a local bike charity.

That appears to be a quite accurate recap of the events.

He said does £25 sound ok? They're a reg'd charity and the money isn't going to fuel someone's Rolls Royce.

I'll message you later with details. They're only about 1/2 mile from my house and probably 2 miles at most from M53.
