barrett Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Nobody wanted my £75 Xant so you might be waiting a while. £300 looks a bargain for something so clean and I'm sure the right person is out there for it. Is there a ZX Facebook group or anything? That seems to be a pretty good way of shifting things. Otherwise carandclassic is a bit better than ebay and doesnt cost anything...
320touring Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Best of luck selling it- ses a nice car! at 300 sheets it is cheap for 1 in decent nick. its also only £5 a raffle ticket..
richbraith Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Really surprised no one wants this, looks like a great little car.
dean36014 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 They are great little cars, mine has become my daily driver and gave me the kick up the arse to get rid of the grand punto. They are reasonably rust resistant, parts are peanuts, comfy to drive. Just unfortunately unless they are a 3 door, estate or a volcane they have little following. Bang it up for a raffle, if you manage to sell it before the roffle sells out just pull the roffle.
bramz7 Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 Okay. Maybe a raffle is best, I'm quite keen that it stays in known hands.
bramz7 Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 One more try. I will let someone on here have this wonderful machine for £250. Its on Facebook for £325 but £250 gets it. Go on. I know I've probably lowered the price too much now but I NEED the space more than anything. You'll even get a lift from Reading station in another ZX. What's stopping you?
barrett Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Jeez, somebody buy this ffs! It was a bargain before, now I reckon it is technically FREE
egg Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 £4.50 raffle tickets? Nothing's selling here at the moment. I'll take 2 tickets.
bramz7 Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 Fuck it, it's on eBay now. I was meant to be getting a visit from somebody today who was very interested in it, but they then went quiet when asked about it yesterday, so whatever. I just need it gone.
23rdian Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Bump. I think this is awesome. You would have £250 in your hand now if I had the space but guess what I don't
bramz7 Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 It went on eBay last night for £185. Madness. Oh well, I'd rather the knowledge its with someone who will look after it. Anyway, this happened: 1990 Citroen BX14 RE. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr I got a BX. Much more fun to drive. And amazingly, half the cost on insurance.... First impressions are that it needs a tidy up but drives super well. I don't think I've had a car with such a good clutch?! Skizzer, strangeangel, RobT and 16 others 19
bramz7 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Potentially going to raffle the green ZX. How does £2 a ticket sound? 60 tickets in all.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 That's only going to net you £120 right? That doesn't sound much!
Lacquer Peel Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Potentially going to raffle the green ZX. How does £2 a ticket sound? 60 tickets in all. Petrol?
barrett Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I'd be very wary about only having a BX to get you around. I'd hang on to the ZX as back up for when it inevitably shits a load of LHM over your drive or spontaneously combusts or whatever Braddon81, Lacquer Peel and Sigmund Fraud 3
bramz7 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Well as much as I'd love to keep the zx I can't at the place I'm moving to and I cannot afford a lock up or anything so it has to go.Diesel ZX by the way! It's the best car I've owned. I move in a week so it has to go, sadly.
bramz7 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 And the reason for the low raffle is that it hasn't cost me a penny in the months I've owned it, plus I really want it to go to someone on here.
Sigmund Fraud Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I'd be very wary about only having a BX to get you around. For absolute reliability*, also keep a couple of strut return pipes in the glovebox.

bramz7 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Yeah it does have the bosch pump. Never run on veg though.
Lacquer Peel Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Put me down for 60 tickets. meggersdog, Sigmund Fraud, mouseflakes and 1 other 4
bramz7 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 It's in south England, but it's here for you+

dollywobbler Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Similar advice applies to the XM then? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk If a strut return snaps, it's hardly the end of the world. I always had a 1 litre bottle of LHM in all of my hydraulic Citroens, but only one of them ever sprang a mahoosive leak - and it still drove ok (I doubt I would have got much further than the mile I drive it to be fair). Main reason to carry a bottle of LHM is you never know where you'll be able to buy another bottle these days. Seriously, these Citroens have rather bigger worries than the hydraulics. French electrics for the most part. BX looks a good buy. I do like Olympic Blue, and the 1400 petrol is a fun, perky little motor. Not really geared for a comfortable motorway cruise sadly. Lacquer Peel Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 ASS.Jeez oh man. Megabus to London and a train to Reading I think.
bramz7 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Yeah motorway cruising is pretty loud but the lack of rev counter means I can pretend it's fine. It's certainly faster feeling than the 1.4 zx I had with the same engine. I don't think any overly testing journeys are planned soon however, but Southsea to Reading was fine. Lacquer Peel 1
Dave_Q Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Soz 4 tiny writing phone screenshots. 9 quid train to Inverness Flying bus to Luton, 23 quid Train to Reading, £28. Lacquer Peel 1
