This is all academic ,because it went before Mr B could present the lady with his list.

Now RobT's Vectra has gone too, I'm going to have to buy a car from a civilian.

This place etc etc.............

Soz to all who expresed an interest in this (320T, Jollyfucker, FDB), Norfolk was 1st in the queue but when I got in touch with the seller this morning she had inexplicably traded it in over the weekend for £200, even though she only asked me on Friday if I could help her re-home it. Hopeless man.

Posted

What did she trade it in against?

Please tell me it was a 993cc Suzuki Swift - she was attracted by the neck-snapping acceleration figures.

I dread to think. I havent asked because it wil only lead to despair.

Laguna diesel auto after some advice from a work mate

Still worth approaching the dealer she traded it to, easy £100 profit for them if you offer 300

FFS! If I couldn't arrange the logistics of collecting it I was hoping it was going to someone else on here who'd sell it to me when they were bored of it.

I honestly don't think I'll be an to maintain a workable erection for at least a month knowing I've missed out on this.

Are we now stalking an old Mercedes on the internet? Is this what our lives have come to?

I would very much like this.  I suspect she dusnae want an excellent Xantia in swap though... Which is of course a shame.

Maybe it had a noisy diff, 32 knackered rear suspension bushes or a leaky heater matrix for all we know. Or maybe it was indeed an ex-taxi, having spent 25 years roaming the shady side alleys of Berlin before being bought by the lady. It's not like Germans don't know how to tamper with odometers.

Stop, you're making it worse. All those things would make it MORE desirable, especially the thought of it been a 2,000,000 km Berlin Taxi . I'm starting to get what WTC is losing just thinking about it.

Reminds me of a friend of the wife's - traded in a stunning W plate Alfa 156 2.0 Veloce in red with black leather, FSH (including a bill for belts, suspension stuff) last year for a nearly new Clio at nearly seven grand because, according to her husband who probably orchestrated the whole thing, "the tax is only 35 quid a year and it does 50 mpg". They got £200 p/x for the 156.

I was tempted to ask:

a ) Did you ever do maths at school?

b ) Are you fucking stupid?

But I didn't because I know the answers already. (no, and yes)

Won't be an ex taxi (at least not in Berlin), it's the wrong colour.
