There it is!!! Woot! Hats off to you guys, 100% Platinum grade shite heroes!!!! Once the crowdfunding is set up I'm happy to contribute to whatever gasket it may need in the engine, sounds like rocker over if it's reaching the exhaust.

Once again, well done guys, you may just have saved the Forum too!

I've driven worse (but only at Shitefest). It leaks oil. It doesn't smell as bad as I expected, except of oil.

BorniteIdentity is on his way to work in Milton Keynes in it. He looks a bit, er, apprehensive, but is a f***ing shite hero.

I don't mean to knock your already heroic efforts but I would be MASSIVELY dissapointed if he was not towing that caravan in the background with it when he set off.

a tired one with crap tyres and worn shocks

Tick, tick and tick.

Actually I'm being rude, it's quite driveable really - a full service will transform it.

Just been messaging with the seller, a very nice chap who is catching up with this thread (hello and welcome!). His father was the Volvo dealer in the Volvo City TV programme :-)

I was all for DMB dealer plates as they're not originals anyway, but now I'm not so sure - check this out:

Yeah. That's what they were built to do, don't insult the poor thing by driving like a wuss.

Absolutely, the two I have owned were happiest at seventy plus on the motorway, the gearing encouraged it, very pleasant place to be compared to cars of previous era's, they were genuinely a good car to own, plenty of room for people and luggage, and bloody reliable :-D

My nose was bothering me... as I'm in work with fuck all to do other than shout at Sealtainns Sprinter, I ran the series GVG 505-515Y through the DVLA.

506 - Escort 1.3GL - date of liability 1/8/92

507 - Maestro 1.6HLS - date of liability 1/10/95

508 - Sierra 1.6L - date of liability 13/6/95

509 - Bluebird 1.8GL 5-speed - date of liability 1/12/93

510 - SHITE HERO SIERRA WINNER MOBILE

511 - Escort 1.3GL - date of liability 1/12/91

512 - Cavalier 1.3L - date of liability 1/12/98

513 - Cavalier 1.6GLS - date of liability 8/4/91

514 - Carlton 2.0S GL - date of liability 27/4/95

So glad we actually managed to get this.

So am I :-)

(Bornite maybe not so much - hope he's doing ok in it...)

He's probably been pulled into a conduct meeting now for bringing the company into disrepute when this rocked up...

The steelies it should have are the same as early mk2 fiesta populars, I quite like the odd set up it wears though

what that tiny number seems to suggest is that the lower spec models lasted longer on average. Could it be that they tend to be owned by the more financially conscious and therefore better looked after? Or could just be complete chance......

Yes. I quite like how it has mismatched ones including one off a Fiesta Mk3 and General Escort type!

What's the plan for wheels? I may be able to help.

I've got a matching set of 14" Sierra steels in my garden - they need tyres mind.

Just brilliant. The arches and sills are in great looking condition and it's not got flappy door bottoms either. The window corrosion is bizarre!

Amazing! If you expire around M40 J4 give me a shout and I'll come help*

I would love to jet wash that - it would be so satisfying ..

FANTASTIC! You made it!

The thought definitely crossed our minds - the caravan was Very Special.

I did another spottage, by the way:

(with back to basics Sierra in the background.)

It's bizarre it actually looks better condition than expected in these pics. It's not a bad old bus is it.

Well done that man and all involved. Please don't keep us in suspense

Congratulations to all involved in this massive endeavour.  Hope it can be suitably preserved for future generations.

Top work shiters, OSR fiesta rim FTW

I Think it looks great just as it is, dents et al. Tells the story of its life and is way more interesting ( and way rarer) as a car show exhibit than a minty Ghia/ XR4x4 etc
