I got this beauty a few months ago but haven't introduced you to it yet.

Wow, I thought they were all dead. More pics - preferably showing the horrible bits and what you've already found that you hate about it.

I like the old Reno 1400 engine but I didn't like the price of the points pack,

Another turbo 11 would be nice but pretty rare now.

These look better with age, and it's a top colour too.

Why would nobody make twin headlight configurations any more? They're too simple? Too sexy? Too cool?

That's great! I remember this old lady in our village called Winnie who drove a identical one of these as a taxi, she was in her 70's and about 3 ft tall and couldn't see over the steering wheel!

Looks tidy does that, I'm trying to figure out what style alloys it has, they look da nuts. More pics please!

EDIT- the spit of the Parisian taxi Roger Moore smashes in half in A View To A Kill

You're the first to notice why I bought it!

Here are some more images; two of which were taken by a friend so look all fancy n stuff. One of them confirms Italianjob's observation. That is a real Parisien taxi sign from a real French man in real France.

As requested...

Like: looks like a Bond car, the whole seat tilts on a curved rail thing and are like armchairs, I can access the engine to fix it because it is small, the wheels are sexy, the parcel shelf folds in half for no apparent reason, the twin headlights oh yes, proper yellow fog lights and a cool 80s steering wheel. It also has a newly fitted radiator and clutch.

Dislike: The AA have already seen the engine (cracked water pipe), there's a bit of rust on the wings I need to sort and the choke cable does not push back in without holding it behind the dashboard.

Chester :anon:

There is one in the same colour in Birkenhead.

Maybe there's a mysterious reason they are all moving to the North.

The seat runner system was called Monotrace, which Renault made a thing about in their advertising.

Does it have the talking dash?!

No so I just settle for the voice in my head. I believe the one you are referring to is the TXE Electronic.

Well now, that was a very pleasant surprise! Cynical old me was expecting a Peugeot 207 or something dull.

These look great in the upper trim levels with those alloys and yellow fogs, and that's the best colour by far. Love it. Quality, er, patina too.

Verdict: beaucoup de WIN.

Great looking car!

One of these is firmly on my car bucket list! Best colour too.

Good to see an ex-Norfolk car. Which garage did it come from?

Brings back memories of an AS collection from many years ago:

Lovely looking car, but sure I'd seen it before....

That was a surprise, a nice one though! Another car you used to see everywhere and has now vanished. My son has a matchbox model one!

Reliance. The original sticker (although half heat damaged I think) is still there and the rear plate matches.
