saved_resource.htmlHmmmm, after weeks of trawling for a french car I won this on eBay with a lowball last 5 seconds bid!

Hoping to renew the MOT and sell it too some Volkker for a slight profit WCPGW?

Oh I'm in Halifax and the car is in Eastest Sussex.

Apparently the car pulls to one side when braked so presuming none working brake on one side.

I don't mind Train but would really like a hand with brakes before attempting the 276-295 mile journey home.

Car has MOT and I will confirm with seller that it does run.

Can I drive it to anyone for a little en-route chod bothering as you can see from the route options I can spread myself to most parts of middle England!

What and ruin the PAHTEENAH?

I do as well but maybe it should be paint strippered and left to rust for that SEENE LUK?

Just polish half of the bonnet, and the oppossite half of the roof - the harlequin/ pogweasel look.

I bet the paint repair on the OSR quarter was seamless when it was done. Looks a totally different colour now.....

And how basic must a car be to not only have a huge reminder of what model car you bought on the dash (where the digital clock would normally go) but also to bin off the trip meter, saving about 50p per car.

But it's still a "premium" brand in the eyes of many

Yep, I did think about polishing a tidemark around the car.

One of the things I like about the Micetro is the trip counter, none of the Pandas have a trip counter though and only two of them came with a clock as standard and most don't even have a cigar lighter, radios were also an option, as were locking petrol caps, heater controls also are not illuminated on base models.  The wiring is in place for all the bits, Fiat continued the tradition by wiring but not supplying a boot light in the mk3 panda.

I'm chuffed about the polo, massive PITA the collection might be.

Do you just need somewhere to stop off for a slash and cup of tea, or to work on the car? Either way, depending on when you do it I may be able to assist, as a bonus I have a Panda in my garage... Don't tell the RSPCA though.

A frame it for maximum points.

Bonus points for finding something smaller and less powerful to pull it with.

Ideally somewhere to have a look at the brakes, tbh unless they are dangerously bad I'll live with them until I get home.

Tuesday late afternoon is looking favourite for collekshun so far.

Alas no A frame or tow barred car.

Bonus points for finding something smaller and less powerful to pull it with.

A 999cc Fiat Panda but the tow bar kit I have won't fit as MODDEDTANGOFORBYFORKAOS don't have bit tow bar would normally fit too BAH.

Just for added delight I have a Dentisht appointment in York on Tuesday(next day off) and trains are mucho cheaper from York than Halifax (£118 vs £62) and massively cheaper too even including a taxi or two to the teeth torturer and £16 fare.

Tuesday's out now as dog sitter is being visited by allergic relative.

Would take dog but Taxi drivers won't take them and have to carry them on underground escalators which scare me to death without holding a 27kg dog.

Will re-group after looking at next weeks rota at work - forgot to copy it down.

Got the usual "what did I buy that for" - it was cheap and I didn't expect to win it - "where is it" - keep going south until you reach the sea, - "that's a long way" - Yessum, sure is.

If it was on my door step it'd be no fun at all.

I went to see the diesel 205 last week, an hours drive away and it was too far gone for a keeper, I'm quite taken with the idea of having something rough and ready though, plus it's a third of teh price.

Or mk3 the mk4 has rather, my German car knowledge is pretty poor.

It's always Polo o'clock! :D

There was also an option with an analogue clock instead rev counter.

we always called them the mark 3 polo, and they were crap when they were new. i don't imagine that they will have gotten better with age.

i dunno if it was cos they were made in spain, and i think at the trabant factory before vag shut it down, or is it was because vag were going right down cutting costs and quality at that time.

a friends mother bought one brand new, at the time when i was running about in my f-reg mark 2. the new one was in and out of the main stealers with bits falling off, and more than one FTP, where as mine just kept on going. even if the newer one had a brake servo so the brakes worked with more spirit than the ones on my car did.

the maek 2 polo was a great little car, the mark 3 was rubbish.

but not seen one in either type in years, so great save sir.

Can't say I had the same experience going from a G to a K plate. They felt broadly the same really (until I lowered the latter...)

Cutting costs thanks to Ignacio Lopez who also ruined Opel's reputation. Golf 3 are rubbish as well.

The pulling to one side could be the track control arm ball joint moving, they can sometimes pop off when driving which causes the strut to become unattached to anything and pushes the wheel into the wheel arch causing a bit of damage. It happened to me on a roundabout once.

Oh-er sounds pant browningly bad.

Will have good look at it before driving. (PM'd Mr Spartacus)

Insured this steed and the local Uno for a grand sum of £83 fully comp today.  Last time I forgot to sort out a weekend collection day insurance was £33 so a right rip-off (arranged on mobile stood in rain after buying car).

Pisses me off that a 999cc engine is taxed the same as an upto 1484cc though, I'm sure I paid less back in the day (about £30) for six months of travellege on the Queen's highways.

Anyway I'm looking forward to my traipse southward again if anyone wants to laugh/pity/provide support on the way back, sling me your postal code and I'll swing by tomoz evening.
