Valuable splitter, car irrelevant. 1999 Renault Laguna V6 24V

I never expected it to be easy.

Stones and glass houses. Given the varied state of dross treasured by the AS collective, I didn't expect quite as much self-righteous bile towards it, either. I was stupid to buy it and naive to think it would be easily sorted; when a car's that cheap you take the chance. At least the collection thread was quite interesting.

It's also reprieved for another week. Due its location and the pitiful price of scrap locally, there's only one yard prepared to collect it - and the soonest they can come round is next Wednesday.

Self righteous bile? Have you seen how some other cars are considered on here mate, they make yours look like the last bloody Austin Metro left in existence in comparison. You weren't the first to buy a car widely scorned, ignored or ridiculed on here and by God you won't be the last, not by a very long chalk.

You weren't stupid to buy it, you took a chance and that's the gamble, plus the collection thread was ace. 'Better to have loved and lost' or somesuch bollocks.

Confirmation bias? If I remember correctly the thread generated a mixture of positive and negative feedback.

What happened to the Ebay buyer?.

Long story involving a broken trailer and consequent inability to collect. It's not worth fucking about with any more.

Park in on an airfield and everyone will be clamouring* to buy this rare classic off you. Job jobbed.

Just watch. In 5 years time this place will be moist at the gusset for V6 Lagunas.

IIRC the heater matrix is bunged up?

To replace the heater matrix on a model with aircon, Autodata reckons pretty much 8 hours. So double that for an amateur and that's 16 hours at least. I'm all up for saving cars like this, but I don't have 16 hours (nor the space) to spend pulling the complete interior out. Paying someone else to do it would be silly when lower mile, better kept examples can be had for cheap.
