I've got a mate that wants shot of his xantia

It's a bit of a turd but I mot'd it before Christmas and it passed first time.

It keeps sinking and leaking and he can't be arsed.

Think it will be scrap money

Depends where it's leaking from as to whether it's worth the hassle I guess. And which engine.

If your mate lives in Chester and thinks scrap is 40p per tonne I'm going party like it's 2016 and a half.

Yes, HDi,an Exclusive which means leather interior also the 110 HP.If it's not beyond redemption it could make a lovely car.My 110 did 50 mpg with loads of go.

Exclusive also means Hydractive suspension like an XM.

From the owner:

"first reg'd March 2000. New engine, water pump, turbo & glow plugs 2006 at 108k miles. Done 80k miles since inc new cambelt at 60k miles, Summer & winter tyres. MOT till next November. Has fluid leak around power steering unit. Could be a hose, could be seals. New discs all round."

More than scrap price as is, answer from the owner is

"The only item of use for me would be the high capacity battery I put on that cost £100 and thé spare pair of winter tyres on wheels for another 100 odd quid. So I would be happy with around £150 ?"

May be negotiable sans winter wheels and take a scrap battery etc

Colour me interested, I'll have a dig around and see what the leak is likely to be, would more pictures be a possibility?

Im assuming its a Manuel

If its an Auto however with the AL4 then I'll go and fetch a trailer.....

Manual

He needs a couple of cars trailered down to him from Derby and Leeds

If a shiter with a trailer could do either, they could have a free xantia plus some money there way

Would you actually notice the difference, in comfort, between a 'normal' car suspension set-up and hydrolastic suspension? :?  Just noticed a 1999 Citroen Xantia sx HDI on Ebay.

Depends. Hydrolastic and Hydropneumatic are different types of suspension.

There's way too much fanboi worship of the latter on here IMHO.
