Free Rover 75 Conny tourer.......

Location; Yeovil

MOT June 2016

Turbo dizzler, with auto box, which is knackered.....drive is, as James May famously said "many are called, but few are chosen"

You will need a trailer, A frame, or recovery to get you home, as actual forwards motion can usually be measured in yards, it at all.

Engine, black leather interior, bodywork and tyres all seem in good order

Come and get it...........

This isn't the ex MM5 machine, is it?

I like the way it has an MoT, though. Well played.

I bought it from a gentleman trader not far from Street..........took a chance that it may be knackered solenoids, [which it isn't]

Where is Yeovil?!

Do you know where Magaluf and Palma Nova are in Majorca?

Ahhh. Google is your friend. My apologies for being dense. I'm a bit sick. Bit too far for me to go. Shame really. But I need a project like I need VD

Get on it Bub, its been ages*  since we have read about you flailing about with a terminally fucked piece of scrap.

Any value in the plate ? Sihva is a name ,don't know if it can be a second name, but I'm sure Mr AK Sihva would pay handsomely to have this plate on his black Audi S5 ( other stereotypes available)

Posted

Forgive my ignorance on 75s but i thought the connies all had black sills?

May part this out [had enquiry ref grille] if anyone wants easily removable bits for much cheapness plus postage

Good luck with it.  Too far away for me and probably beyond my meagre spannering ability to fix.

There is a Shiva Textiles whose MD is one Akhil Malhotra.

Unfortunately it/he are located in Punjab, India which I can see being a problem regarding DVLA transfer rules.

I haz too much time on my hands at present - maybe I should consider a Rover 75 with a fucked gearbox.

It's an OMGBMW engine innit?  Couldn't you flog the lump to some hapless Beemer owner whose 320D has just nommed its piss flaps?

Someone clever could probably have this taken home free.

Auto boxes dont like being A-framed and while you could say its fucked anyway so no harm done you could also find it locking up at 40mph just as you turn into a corner.

I wouldnt.

Same engine in a TD4 Freelander too. a Rover Ron tuning box gives a decent hike in power and driveability for 150 quid or so.

Oh and I just about ruptured my ovaries lifting a manual box, dunno how heavy the autos are though - not a roadside swap IMO.

Posted

The 75 can be towed for 30 miles at 30mph max.

That's what the aa computer stated when they towed my old one years ago.

They had to get a low loader for it

If only this was closer to me, even have access to a four poster to do the box. If anyone happens to be driving an empty trailer past Yeovil and Tamworth, give me a shout.

The black sills are for Cowley - built cars, before the move to Longbridge. Pretty much the divide between Pre and post project drive IIRC.
