It's obviously been very well looked after throughout its life as it drives very well - you really wouldn't believe it's done the miles it has when you drive it.

<snip>

is testament to the reliability of modern day cars.

Yeah its a 1.9 DCI, probably done 150k or something...

Mileage: 309,500

Don't get giddy, the front towing eye will be knackered, because the only way one of those gets to that kind of mileage is on the end of a rope or behind a camper.

It's had an ECU fart and the cluster has gone mental, resulting in the odometer reading in inches.

My mate had one that went up 100 miles for every actual mile. I suspect that's the case here.

I'm sure one will get to the moon, but will it get you back as well......thought you said it done low miles guv....it's been to the moon and back....

I dont think its overpriced, it does look as good a one as you are likely to find.

Well done!!!!! Thats a beauty, I reckon its pretty much the benchmark of Lagunas. Whereabouts do you live? i want to come and have a look at it.

North Bristol! Do you come down to Rolls-Royce in Filton often?

Looks like I've got a pretty long collection ahead of me!

WHAAAATTTTTTTTT!!!!!!1111111

Apologies for the mix-up but the car sold elsewhere and was collected yesterday. Unfortunately I was unable to close the listing as it was already within the last 12h window. I will send the cancellation request.

Regards,

:signs053:

How can I even respond to this, as I know its utter bullcrap?

No bids were in that 12 hr window, so he could have cancelled.

Also it certainly wasn't sold at 9pm last night...

What an absolute fucking arsehole.

Ignore the cancellation request, stiff him with FVFs and negative feedback.

Posted

ALL the negative feedback then.

You sell a car for what you can fucking get for it.

Posted

certainly turn down his request, then he'll be in for 25 quid irrecoverable fees.

Posted

I'd probably accept £1270 rather than relisting it 23 times trying to get £1500.

Whatevs, people are strange like that.

People in Henfield are strange, I know as I used to work there.

That's the crazy thing. The market for v6 French barges - especially ones that aren't noted for their electrical reliability (which seems to scare people more than mechanical problems) in particular is pretty small!

It's like this one: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201510107684341

That dealer has had it for sale for nearly 6 months now. It did sell on eBay for £866, (as per usual with eBay) the buyer didn't collect. The reserve they had it on for was £750. I phoned up a couple of weeks ago and they would, after a lot of arguing, at most go to the sold eBay price of £866 as the lowest.

However it needs its belts doing which is £500 of work (£250 parts, +5hrs labour @ £50 p/h). It also has a ESP fault light on (could range from ESP module faulty to a sensor needs adjusting), Tyre Pressure Sensor fault (probably dead sensor, can disable the whole system) and the Sat Nav not picking up a GPS signal (probably antenna).

Those electrical problems don't bother me about fixing them - however not many people are as mad as me who is prepared to take on a Laguna 2 with known electrical faults! Even so, they wouldn't even go near the £750 reserve price they had it on eBay for - which I was prepared to pay but, in reality, probably still a bit pricey for what is wrong and needs doing.

What a donkey stroker. Still seems like a lot of money too me for a Largoona Auto. I doubt he'll ever get much more than you're offering

Can you still leave neg feedback?

It appears that I can at the moment. I didn't get a choice on the cancellation - it just happened when he triggered it. Debating on actually responding to his message (friendly and along the lines of, don't forget to remove your gumtree advert, etc) or just leaving it...

Even though he's cancelled, it looks like he'll still get charged the Final Fees and listing fees.

£10 listing + £20 minimum final fee = £30 in fees he's lost. Factor in that he has to sell it soon because of submitting NCB proof (supposedly) and that every month in tax is £25 extra, plus costs of re-listing it on whatever. If he really wants to sell it for £1500 then it's going to end up costing him the difference between that auction end cost in waiting around. Daft.

I really do want a v6 ph2, but even if this went on mega cheap on a classified, I don't think I'd want to ever deal with him. I was getting bad vibes on the way he responded to the eBay messages I sent.

Feeling rather frustrated at the moment. Getting a bit of regret not buying that silver ph1 v6 that sold for £405. However I always end up buying cars not quite exactly what I want - in this case a Ph2 v6 Initale.

Problem is, they never made that many in the first place and so there isn't really anything else around...

Ho hum. I've got to continue driving our deathly dull Astra mk4 for a bit longer then. :(

Don't worry SiC, I don't doubt that others will turn up before too long. There are 2 ph2 initiale estates in daily use in my office car park (dunno what engine mind) so there are still plenty out there doing their thang.
