Father Ted Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Read the description, look at the photos, then look at the price - gotta be a record for an empty box! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v242/jim_reaper/fleebay/?action=view¤t=flebert3.jpg
pandamonium Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Odds on winning bidder either not paying or leaving a neg???
pogweasel Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Ah, that old one.... anyone remember the ex box xbox ones ftom a few years back?
outlaw118 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 £51.00!!! Bugger me with a stick!!I've got some nothingness they can bid on (Reserve set to £50.00) If it donet sell i will bager race it. (etc)
Guest greenvanman Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Odds on winning bidder either not paying or leaving a neg???It does say there's no phone though, which is why it's a good idea to read listings before dropping a bid. Better still buy your new mobile from a shop/a mate/Gumtree, there's a 1987349873457646% less chance that you'll get ripped off.
RedSparrow Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 There is a bit of genius there. The winning bidder can consider himself on the recieving end of some 'stupidity tax', which I think should be applied to everyday life.
Father Ted Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Well Im a bit bewildered. Its my listing, it was boshed up in a hurry it wasnt meant to delibaratly mislead, I honestly thought i would get a couple of quid, anyway last night i emailed the high bidder and said, you do realise its only a box, do you want to withdraw your bid - and added to the listing. So i emailed the winner again wit the invoice saying you DO realise its an empty box dont you?And they paid up....Weird.
kelvin2008 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 could the winning bidder use it for an insurance scam perhaps? look mr insurance man I have the box accessories etc but me phones been nicked.

It says plenty about some of the folks you happen across on eBay though, doesn't it?
Richard Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 There are a couple of these boxes lying at work.
outlaw118 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Well done FT, a triumph for the 'shiter! Are you going to spend the money on a flameproof shirt?!
mirafioriman Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Perhaps the winning bidder has a new phone but no leads, box or CD?
hotford00 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Congratulations Father T, I think I just heared on the radio that the last bag of Pick and Mix has just been sold for something like £14,000 so keep trying . Maybe the next try might be " For sale , New clothes fit for an Emporor". Could do well methinks
pogweasel Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Or just a complete gimlord with an imbalance of cash/common sense. If anyone recalls my legendary 'sale' of a waspT12, that went in a similar direction, auction was totally clear of what was on offer (a piccy and a laugh at the winning bidder's expense), it was just sommert that me and a colleague did in a dull afternoon at work... in the end it went for about £150, and the bloke paid up. We sent him the laminated photo as agreed, as well as some evidence of us donating his cash to Shelter. He got a bit shirty to begin with, till we told him that he we clearly mental and to STFU. TOTALLY MEXICO
shite_meister Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm thinking Insurance scam too, not even RayManBoy would be that weird. Obviously they can provide the box as 'evidence' that they did actually own it....only they didn't.
AXrescuer Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I like the question from someone who had bidded on the box. As if bidding such daft amounts on a box wasn't moronic enough already!
Pillock Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I found a company flogging iPhone boxes... no manual, cables or anything just a completely empty box. They've got hundreds of the things for all different types as they're marked on the outside with the capacity. They get about £15 per box, which makes sense as a boxed phone is worth >£15 more than unboxed, but they must be loving it. Warehouse full of empty boxes worth a fortune.
Father Ted Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Yeah, but 50 quid??? No way is a box going to add 50 nicker t the price of an old N70 - ive emaled her and asked if she would like an empty N95 box chucking in free of charge too!Fuck me my loft is an aladins cave of money f this is anything to go by!
Father Ted Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 Top Kwolity - this email today:not impressed with you at all, im having everything in my power as a police officer and web nanny to have you removed. i expect my payment to be returned within the week.I replied to the effect I had emailed her 4 times saying she could have a refund or not pay.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 refund her 5p at a time, make one payment per day, that will teach the dopey old bint. Oh and of course sign her up for the usual free samples of Supa Tenaladys.

If she can't provide it, report her for impersonating a Police Officer! If she is is a copper, her perceptive powers aren't particularly good.
retrogeezer Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 not impressed with you at all, im having everything in my power as a police officer and web nanny to have you removed. i expect my payment to be returned within the weekWTF is she not impressed with?? Her lack of reading ability?? FFS.

If she can't provide it, report her for impersonating a Police Officer! If she is is a copper, her perceptive powers aren't particularly good.My thoughts exactly, showed the works solicitor my ebay listing and emails then hers, he ROFL'ed a bit then said pretty much the same thing - report her and tell her to STFU regarding the box.
outlaw118 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Excuse me for being a bit "Father Dougal" but I must have missed something. Is she now moaning that the box is empty? Surely then the item is "as derscibed" and she can stick the complaint (and the box) up her stupid arse.
seth Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Whats a web nanny? Oh, and I agree with the others
FredTransit Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Yep, if she doesn't pay, enter a non payment strike, not like you didn't make it clear the box was empty.
Albert Ross Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 WHAT???? There's no phone?? Honestly, you shyster! I would have thought it was a joke......I mean, you have to put a phone in the box for that price....................there was a phone wasn't there? No? You sure? Go on, there's a phone, stop kidding me on..............
Father Ted Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 Is this clearer do you think? Emailed her asking for her warrant number - she has not replied.
Guest Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Is this clearer do you think?Emailed her asking for her warrant number - she has not replied. Dont hold your breath
AnthonyG Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 They are letting some very thick people onto the force these days if she really is a copper .
