Went to the auctions on the hunt for a wee bit of stock tonight to be greeted by the only one of these i have ever seen. Its a 3.0 v6 HDI EXCLUSIVE. one owner in lovely beige. Same engine as the big jags and disco 4 etc, should be a cracking driving thing. 1 owner 73k 10 plate with full history massage seats etc etc... £29k list, bought for £3500 :) needs a wee bit of paint to repair pensioner damage otherwise looks a cracker, will update when its home. post-4577-0-18713000-1449793128_thumb.jpeg

Ooohh that looks nice. I looked at these enviously when they were new and nearly new. Amazing low price now. Do tell us about it when you've had a chance to get used to it.

Yes yes, would love a full picture-heavy report on this one Kinkers!

Absolutely fantastic. It matches autoshite so well that it's camouflaged in the background of these pages

How reliable are they? I have to admit to never seeing one before. Did they really come out in 2010?

Posted

They came out in 2008, but with the old 2.7 v6 hdi  as a top model, the 3.0 hdi only came out in 2010 and I cant find another one for sale..anywhere, they are about 40 bhp up on the older engine and squeeze in under the big road tax unlike the older engine.  its a good going engine in a discovery 4 so I imagine its great in this..im not a lover of diesels though, but if it has to be, might as well be the biggest one!

So has this got the same engine as the 3 litre Jag XF?  If so, top buying sir!  Consider my hat to be off to you.

The 3.0 was 4 grand more expensive than the previous 2.7!

The 2.7 V6 diesel was also found in the Peugeot 407 saloon estate and coupe as well as the C5.  Badermatic in all of them. Their pricing is coming down to Autoshite territory now. The C5 isn't that rare: there are a couple on Autotrader now. Just search for Citroen C5 with keyword "V6"

A friend of mine just bought one from Arnold Clarke for about double what you paid. He just found out it's been remapped to 290bhp....

ace, I did read somewhere that the box shitroen use isn't as good as the box others use, so remap not advised.....  I imagine some other shit will kill it before the gearbox... the possibilities are endless...  it also has double glazing... I am still undecided whether to keep it and run it, or retail it.. I have recently hankered after another c6, but to be fair didn't particularly like my last one...

V6 Diesel? Hydropneumatic? Automatic?

Wow, brave man. But nice car. I bet it sounds great.

Judging by what he paid for his, there's a good profit in it.

What didn't you like about the C6? I feel myself getting lured in more and more every time I see one.

My c6 was the 2.7 top spec thing, i loved sitting in it, loved looking at it, didnt fall in love with driving it, was slow, greedy amd always felt like it might break which took a lot of the pleasure away. Having said that, i would have another in a heart beat, ideally a petrol, but they are so few and far between it wont happen. I think a 2.2 hdi manual would be the safest bet, but again rare and they tend to be a bit basic. Add that to the fact i think they need to be black with cream leather i will be in for a long wait. The c5 might be the answer for a wee while. It is getting delivered tomorrow so will have a shot and see what i think. Failing that i will bung it on autotrader for £5995 and see how it goes. There is every chance that retailing it might generate an equally autoshite trade in. :)

I don't rate the 2.2 manual at all. Feels entirely wrong. Apparently the 2.7 can feel quite laggy, but these 3-litres don't. Would like to try either to be honest!

You're a very brave person.

Sounds like a good buy to me, I don't understand why all the "brave" comments, sensible  springs to mind to me.

I'm pretty sure that it's got the same Aisin auto box that just about everything seems to have nowadays.

Pretty reliable apparently but does like a fluid change despite what the service schedule might tell you.

Love the car, almost had my hand in my pocket for virtually exactly the same thing a couple of months back when it popped up on ebay.

Black interior or pale grey/beige?

Black heated electric memory with drivers massage :)
