2000 saab 2.0 litre lpt turbo Now breaking it seems..

Now going to break as I have bought another car...

So the time has come to break my Silver Saab 93 2.0 litre lpt turbo due to DADD or daily attention deficit disorder. The car was first registered on the 27/07/2000 and was owned by a Mr Milne from then until 01/06/2015 when i bought it. it has a good service history pretty much all with the same garage of which more to follow as i am picking up copies of all the servicing and other work done to the car tomorrow. This car has the B204 engine which is almost bulletproof can do mega miles and is in demand with the Vauxhall guys who put them in Corsas and the like. A good engine, loom and ecu is worth £250 on its own.  I have the V5 in my name and the car is MOTed until May21st 2016.
The car has only done 14,000 miles since 2010, 7,000 of which i have done since June and is now showing 102,200 although as i am still using it this will go up it has been utterly reliable during the time i have had it. interior is grey cloth and grey plastic and still looks as good as grey ever can.
 Good bits.
 Goes very well
 Very comfortable
 Defrosts very quickly

 Everything electrical works
Two brand new Bridgestone tyres on the front (fitted today)

Not so good bits.
 Aircon does not work
Leaks some water into the passanger footwell if parked on a 45% slope (my drive)
Both of these problems may well be due to a blocked pollen filter it has never bothered me enough to investigate.
There is a small oil weepage from the LHS drive shaft seal. The seal is about £10 but you need to remove the driveshaft to replace it so i have just kept the gearbox oil topped up. About 1/2 litre every 2 months.
No rear parcel shelf but can be bought for Ã‚£25 posted off ebay.

A couple of little rust scabs on the rear arches and an odd scuff elsewhere.

All in all a good WBOD.
I am looking to Raffle at £7.50 a ticket or 2 tickets for £14 . As i have now bought a car. I can always borrow something to drive if it raffles quickly so no worries there. I can also keep it here until Xmas if needed.  As I did better buying the new car than I thought I will also give away the last three tickets to *lucky punters who have already bought ticket/s by means of drawing numbers out of a hat.

Pics (more tomorrow in daylight if required)

Picked up the service history today... so if you are sitting comfortably i will begin...

1st service in service book no stamp unfortunately...12/03/01 @    5,839 then...
26/02/02 @  18,174
10/03/03  @  30,074
26/03/04 @   42,147
28/04/05 @  54,341
15/02/06 @   62,511
26/06/06 @   65,712
22/06/07 @   76,451
26/06/08 @   84,172
09/06/09 @   86,652
24/10/13  @  93,667

All at Dorchester motor co.Levels were checked at each mot. Castrol semi-synthetic oil and oil flush used at each service.
extra work includes exhaust replaced in 2010, coolant sensor and lambda sensor in 2011,
cat in 2012 and a new clutch in May 2014.
all in all including mot's the car has cost 5,807.61 to keep on the road for 12 years, that is less than
£500 per year all in...... I doubt many other cars would be this cheap to run...

I have a full print out of all the work done to the car which will come with it...

I have a spare parcel shelf you can have if you want? It's missing one of the rubber string things but it lifts up perfectly fine on it's own.

I can be about, it's only an hour and a half from Helston and I'm not planning on going up to Bath.

Now roffling as another car has been purchased....

£7.50 per ticket or two for £14 + As I bought the new car for less than expected I will pass on that saving by giving the last three tickets to people who have already purchased one or more by time honoured means of drawing numbers out of a hat...

Be very nice to see all these tickets sold by Saturday. Tried to explain an AS raffle to a mate who's response was "you already have three cars not including the Mrs's and two of those are broken." All I could say was "Well yeah, but.........."
