Great thread. Here is my current fleet.

First, my current daily driver. Mercedes W126 420 SEL. Painted by me.

Posted Image

The car I would like as my daily (if I ever get it fixed!)

Fiat 130 Berlina 3200cc V6 auto

Posted Image

My first 131 bought for £90 £££ spent!

Posted Image

My first 132. A blue 132 1800 ES (bumped at the front, not by me!)

Posted Image

My second 132. The 132 2000 I really wanted. Not bumped just rusty!

Posted Image

My Fiat Argenta. Now has square headlights!

Posted Image

Some more 131s. First up 131 Estate (called the Panorama)

Posted Image

131 1300 bought locally. A lucky find, been garaged for a long time.

Posted Image

My old 131 Supermirafiori auto. (sold it just before Christmas to give me some space for the Argenta and some cash to spend on the 130!)

Posted Image

This picture shows it setting off!

Next a deceased Supermirafiori. I sold some bits and chopped it up!

Posted Image

There are two more Supermirafioris but I don't have photos of them

My other two project are Mercs

W109 300 SEL 6.3 (in progress)

Posted Image

Finally W116 450 SEL 6.9. Needs some TLC. This how it was advertised on ebay!

Wow love all your Fiats especially the 131s & the 132s. Did the 132 replace the 130 in Fiat's line-up?I have 50/50 Fiat / Renault love! 8)I assume you're also in the FMCGB? I am & also in the ROC. Must sign up to the RCCC too at some point.

I'm not in the Fiat Motor Club anymore, but I do use the website regularly. I believe that the 132 did become the top of the range car after the 130, but of course the 130 coupe continued in production well after the 132 was launched. The saloon may have also continued after the 132s launch, but I'm not too sure of my dates!

Superb thread, H - thanks! It's great to see what everyone is rolling. Or otherwise.

Rather late to the party, but last week I saw I still had this at the back of our top shed: :D My own barn-find.

Posted Image

I though it was long gone, but snapped it today as we had a clear-out.

Twisty in the middle Honda Gyro-Up.

Posted Image

Daily driver: 1.8GL AWD, the day after I got it...

Posted Image

...on firewood delivery duty...

Posted Image

...and in snow slag mode:

Posted Image

It's been absolutely unstoppable in the soft stuff this winter and has surprised many with its capabilities. Well pleased.

The Swift-shaped Justy I got off the 'bay for a one-er, after searching for ages. I much prefer this earlier face to the frumpy facelifted ones. It was made in Hungary by Magyar Suzuki. Plans are afoot involving this motor :D

Posted Image

Final shite - I'm mothballing until I get around to registering it. It's a Honda Sonic and I brought it back from Thailand. I must take it for a run down the lane, it hasn't been out yet this year.

Posted Image

Carry on

Posted

How do you find the Swift-shape Justy? I have a 'proper' 3-cylinder one. ;) I bet they're alright to drive with the permanent AWD. What's that engine you're planning to put in it? Oh and was it originally sold at Aird Motors in Beauly?

Posted

That is a nice EF12 you found, I was watching that one. But I held out for the next generation - I prefer the style, and the drive train gives me more options. They do come up occasionally on eBay, but they only made them with this face for a year or so. Wuvz of this parish ran one for a bit, didn't he? They do corner as if on rails, but not rapid because of the extra weight. The motor is a conventional 1.3 transverse 4-pot, the same motor as in the Suzuki Samurai 413. Years ago I had a 4WD Swift saloon (same chassis) but with the 1.6 16v lump. That drove well. When was the last time you saw one of them, eh?The project engine is from a CBR1000 for the instant 135bhp 6speed sequential win!According to the service history, it came from Reekie Forres in the FAR north. :)

Lovin that Estelle 8) ! Would this be a 130 LSE per-chance??

Yep, our kid brother was late for Air Cadets when he put his STDT through a wall. This was his second 205 and is now a spares shed. It wouldn't polish out... As of this week he's onto his fifth 205 TD :D

That's an average of one per month!

Wow! I had no idea that was ever sold as a Subaru. We only had "real" Justys in Canada. That model of Swift was sold here as Suzuki Swift, Chevrolet Sprint, Geo Metro, and Pontiac Firefly. Sprint and Firefly were available in 3cyl turbo or 2-seat cabrio form as well.

Yep. And in Oz, the Swift was sold as the Holden Barina, and in Japan, "Cultus".

A couple of guys in the states put a CBR 600 engine in a Geo Metro.

Even with the 600, it shifts - there are vids to be found on YouTube, but here's their webpage:

Did the Americans let you have any of these Outback pick-up things?

Posted Image

Shame we didn't get the Baja  They're ace.

Posted

Hmmm available here, too. Rather lazy of Subaru - it's a FWD only rebadged Daihatsu. Suzuki offer a better range of small 4wd cars these days.

Posted

shite is an understatement for my Viva status...im investigating the HC Magnum parts car tomorow for interior..im hoping for better seats..mine are all rooted..and notice embarrassing half arsed exhaust non-removal!

Posted Image

Posted Image

im hoping the scrappie might do a cash job on the exhaust..they do build super stock cars...

I understand it's only there to bring the average emissions of sold/offered cars down... someone in my 'hood has bought one, took me a few weeks to figure out what was wrong with the Sirion I saw everyday

Yeah, we got the Baja, but they're rare. They stopped selling the Justy in '94 in the U.S. but '95 here; according to Wikipedia that's about when the Suzuki shape one debuted.

I'm disappointed it's not the same colour as in your avatar!

I don't think I've seen these two before Regie. They both look in fab condition. R14 must be the best one left in the UK surely?

I would love a Mk1 Strada 8)

They've always been viewable in the 'my story' link in my siggy block.

There are 1 or 2 nice ones still out there, I got talking to another owner recently, that's 2 other owners I know of now. I had been watching some bits on eBay & one of the parts for a 14 I was watching got bought by someone so I had to deduce that they might also be an owner! Got talking to them and they are indeed another owner, he got passed his dad's car when he died which his dad bought new in 1981.

As you can see the car still looks new from where I'm sitting!!

Hey Redsparrow, you don't have a V reg suffix & X reg prefix cars hiding somewhere too do you? Then we'd match on all fronts...Yesterday I saw a metallic green TR7 convertible on the dual carriageway & today I've seen go past my window a 60s Mustang in pale yellow & what looked like an Austin Cambridge / Morris Oxford pulling a trailer. The old cars are slowly coming out of hibernation! (makes me feel not quite so alone...)

In other news I now have a fresh MOT on the above car, it went in last Saturday & failed on a sidelight bulb in need of replacement, one of the headlamps being misted up, the windscreen washers being rubbish (3 out of 4 weren't working) & a small hole in the exhaust. Total bill inc cost of the test £92.40. Quite happy with that, it's a fraction of what the Alfa had to have spent on it last year & even the first MOT I gave the 14 surpassed it by 50 quid. Only shame is that it came in the same month as the Waterpump job which was more expensive at £132 so all in all an expensive month with this car, but it's only relative as it's cost me nothing the rest of the time besides petrol. Apart from that job on the brakes last November. :D

It's funny how advisories change year by year & no mention is made of the previous ones, either on the new advisory sheet or the failure sheet - the problems can't be that serious then!

For instance on the last advisory sheet I have which is from 2 years ago, it warns that there is;

A corrosion development in chassis rails to bulk head (whatever that means),

Repairs to both side mirrors (well they've been replaced so no longer an issue)

Slight corrosion in brake pipes.

Yet on last week's MOT none of those issues came up in either the advisory sheet or as a failing item! Kinda makes a mockery of it...

This time the advisories were;

Nearside front anti-roll bar rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement

Offside blah blah blah see above ^ ^

Offside front wheel bearing has slight play

Front registration plate delaminating

Oil leak

N/S/F tyre perished

Corrosion started near o/s/f sub frame mounting

That's quite a list, but will any of them appear on next years??

:?

WARNING....WARNING These sound like the same problem fix now or scrap later
