Does anyone have any stories etc regarding haunted cars or even strange things happening in cars.

(I dont mean your pal ACTUALLY fingering someone in back seat 😂😂)

My dad told me a story years ago about a 2nd hand car he bought a white mk1 Escort, and he said he always felt the presence of someone sitting in the passenger seat when he was alone, it used to really freak him out, the car had had a colour change over the years and later he found out from the guy that he had bought it from that it had been crashed and a young lad had died in it. He sold it not long after finding out.

Not really scary, anyine got anything to add?

Would a Ambulance contain more Ghosts than a hearse ? Ambulances being a place where death occurs in much frantic pummeling of the ventricles, Hearses -well jobs done aint it really

Just what I always used to say when people asked me if it was spooky driving a hearse  8)

Only ever had one freaky incident in a motor vehicle... late night returning to the depot off a 12 hour railway standby in buttfuck nowhere. Took my sleeping bag as usual and couldn't settle on the back seat for a kip so ended up going for a walk. I wasn't used so didn't have a single soul on the bus all day bar me. It was dark and for whatever reason I made the hour and a bit trip back to base with the saloon lights on as well as the exterior lights. Came up to a roundabout and something caught my eye... lad about maybe fourteen or so, school uniform, hoody, rucksack, sitting on the back bench seat with his arms folded over the top of the seat in front of him, staring right at me in the mirror. Fucking shat myself, stood on the brakes, handbrake on, the lot.

'course there was no cunt there but it freaked me the fuck out.

Never did find out if anything had happened on the former CMS724 (as was), Volvo/Alexander K724 DAO.

Went to look at a SD1 many moons ago and the owner admitted it was involved in a fatal accident. It had run someone down. Reg number was also 666. I walked away. Great looking car too, bright yellow black interior. Should have bought it.

Dunno about the hearse thing but never felt any problem in my Ambulance, slept like a log in it......

I was talking about this very point to another owner - bit of a flower-child type - and she said something about life beginning in them as well as possibly ending and much more positive outcomes from ambulance rides than merely death.  Etc.

A mate had a metro the previous owners husband had logged off due to heart attack en route to hospital. It was shit and went wrong all the time. None of this was due to Austin Rovers dire quality control at the time.

I won't say haunted but my mk1 sierra has had lots of strange occurrences surrounding it, the weirdest being when I was tinkering with it and mrs fp said "i don't know why you keep on with that piece of crap" I then went to start it to move it and it wouldn't start, I took the piss and told mrs fp that she had hurt the cars feelings that's why it won't start, mrs fp told it i love you really, and it started when I turned the key, this was completely unexplainable as it started on the button every time and I wasn't even messing with the engine, this car has had bad luck surrounding it, including within 2 months of me getting it on road it got crashed into, i crashed it, the engine blew and I mean blew, it put a rod through the block, a fresh built engine where everything had been checked and machined true developed mixing of water and had a warped head, amongst strange things I've got in it a fair few times and it's smelt of lavender but no air freshners have been in it since it was on road. It's had lots of strange little things happen which I can't explain, while I've had it though nothing bad has happened to me or other people who've come into contact with it, I've never seen anything strange like unexplainable shadows etc that's why I say strange occurrences mostly bad luck. I don't know the cars history past the previous owner, but he had no luck with it either, he crashed the rear quarter into a lamp post putting a rear seat passenger's head through the window

I used the old people die in ambulances but people are already dead when they have their final journey in a hearse, when trying to convince mrs fp that it's a good idea to buy a hearse

The triumph 2000 in my picture would seem to turn its side lights on occasionally but I think it was more to do with Joe Lucas electrics rather than ghosts.

But it had its good points as it meant my mates didn't want to use it as transport on a Friday or Saturday night so I could have a couple of drinks and leave the car at home but I did elaborate a bit on a story and told them someone was found dead in the boot years previous when a couple of them saw the lights turn on for no reason but it might of been a B/L attempt at making automatic lights.

Weird thing is isn't Joe Lucus known as the prince of darkness yet my car was doing the complete opposite so maybe it was haunted lol.

I used to have a bright red 1958 Plymouth Fury. I bought it as a wreck and did it up....It could only pick up 1950s radio stations. I'm sure that was haunted......

The leccy sunroof on my old daily used to randomly start opening and closing itself. Derek Acorah couldn't get to the bottom of it, but when I spotted liquid dripping from the sunroof switch, I knew that it was time to sell, and fast. Bloody rainwater.

I absolutely promise this is real... my dad had a bright orangey-red Morris Marina 1.3 Super as a company car from 1976-1980, and nothing went wrong with it in all the time we had it. Overall he rates it as one of the most reliable cars he has ever owned.

i vaguely knew a motor trader back in the early 90s, and one of his mechanics told me a story, the boss bought a cavalier sri130 hatch in french blue or whatever that flat blue colour they painted them in, i can't remember if it was a d or an e plate, anyway it was dirt cheap, not very old but when the logbook came back it had had 15 owners, any way before that, they had been running it around cos it was quick, but that everybody who drove it said there was something not quite right with it, just a weird experience when driving, to the point that nobody wanted to drive it, boss phoned the last owner on the logbook only to be told by the wife of the guy who owned it, that he had committed suicide in it by gassing himself, and another owner in its life had done the same, sold on and never heard anymore.

I wonder if they died of lung cancer from all the filler?

Our Imp van has  something strange happen in it -  Four times so far - its an unbelievably warm / hot sweat inducing feeling combined with a feeling of utter peace and quite - never when driving just when parked up - the last time was at Corfe Castle a few years back when me and Mrs RP both felt it happen - its not nasty whatever it is but it almost sends you to sleep - only lasts a few minutes and when it stops its bloody cold all of a sudden - no the engines not been running at the four times its happened and im sure its not trying to cook us by overheating .

No idea whats going on but theres not a religious bone in my body - there is in my missus though ?

Many moons ago I owned an early Series III Landy (KJK 491K), it had previously been owned by a friend of mine that was killed in an car accident in Greece.

I was driving KJK down some dark, dark lanes on a dark, dark night, somewhere around Borehamwood.  It was just me, the Landy and the dark country lanes - I glanced in the rear view mirror and could see a figure sitting in the back behind me... cue sphincter clenching and heart pounding.  I kept my eyes firmly on the road ahead and my hands clenched on the wheel, too scared to check the mirror again.  I kept driving towards the relative safety of the closest lit area... finally I sneaked another look in the mirror, and fuck me, the ghostly cunt was still there... I kept driving, my heart was about to jump out of my chest.  As the minutes ticked by, my brain started to slow down and think about what was happening.  Another look confirmed I still had my ghostly passenger, no noise, no movement, nothing.  Slowly it dawned on me, I was looking at a reflection of myself... the dim lights from the dash, combined with all the flat glass in KJK and the complete darkness outside caused my reflection to show in the back window.  That's ten minutes I don't want to go through again.

Sadly KJK has gone to meet it's former owner.  There was a picture of it in LRO magazine about 10 years ago and my friend who owned it after me an ended up working for LRO sent me the Chassis Plate and the warning plate for the transfer gears, which are now on the wall in my office.

That shit happens in Borehamwood all the time. It is the residue of many drugs in the air that gets sucked into cars that are passing.

Strange place is Borehamwood, very strange indeed, mwahhhahaha.

No no, you'll be relieved to know it wasn't haunted at all, just possessed.

Btw I can recommend From A Buick 8, another nice & creepy car story by SK.
