Halfwit Goes 200mph Probz Thinks It's A Larf

Then raise the dry motorway limit to 100 mph.

No. I don't want to do 100. I want to sit at 80 and keep at least a few quid in my pocket. My cars drink heavily beyond that; most of the cars I like will.

The last thing I want is every fuel-card toting photocopier salesman in an A4 diesel company hack bearing down on me at a ton. They will. Because they can.

It's like those clever dicks who thought it was funny to make jokes about Islam in that French rag - just because you can do something doesn't mean you actually should. Someone is going to get hurt, or worse.

How did this slip by without comment??? ....

Oh yes, we were discussing speeding... A far more heinous crime.

Variable speed limits.

Its not as if we dont have the technology to do this (much of it in place already) - cameras that monitor traffic flow, speed cameras for enforcement, gantry signs, up to date weather information.

So at 5am on a dry morning the limit could be 100 mph, and at 8am on a winter morning it might be 60 mph.

People will still speed, people will still justify it to themselves but if you give people more flexibility they might not speed inappropriately.

I wouldn't want this bloke driving at any speed on the same road as me,he clearly has spent more time shoving steroids down his neck than honing his 190+ mph driving skills.

Which means some will be doing 110. In a 52 plate Mondeo TDCi with rusty brake pipes and 1.8mm Nangkangs.

It's fucking lunacy.

....Im not goin to get into the speeding debate here; its irresponsible n idiotic behaviour etc etc doin them speeds on a public road etc etc.

...what I cant fathom, is that  he was convicted on phone camera recorded 'lawbreaking/speeding' by himself - how is this even admissible in court?? he wasn't caught in the act/on that day or the offense, by a member of the police /speed camera etc. - im no lawyer but surely a decent defense solicitor /barrister would have mounted sufficient rebuttal of the admissibility of the 'phone evidence'...

Im not up with UK law or whats required to convict someone, and under what circumatances, so im just curious... his daughter getting a driving ban , as a passenger also seems bizzare to me - its a 'first' for me reading that, that someone can be convicted for such a thing...

...I don't agree with speeding to such an extent on public roads; should be dealt with accordingly; but the law should be equal to all; you often read court transcripts of wealthy heirs/heiress's, playbaoys footballers etc being done for speeding, n getting off lightly, with arguments like 'my client was in high spirits that evening yr honor, n acted totally out of character on the evening n is usually a law abiding n productive member of society, yr honor' etc etc.... n they get away with a few points on the licence n a fine; or at worst a short ban...

Im not making excuses for the guy, im just wondering if its a case of the often inexplicable  uneven hands of justice, in this case considering his 'background;/address etc etc

And you're too thick to appreciate irony. You probably think it's what your wife uses to put the creases in your matalan suit.

So anyway, I read the two articles and looked at the pictures and now I know how stereotypes are made.

They won't be doing 110 for long. That doesn't worry me.

Has it been caught doing 194mph?

No but it'll do 45  in a 33!!!

Mine's Dolby. And increasingly hyperactive.

But in what way? A huge accident? Because it won't be for speeding if 100 is legal, 10% and all that.

Sorry, but the 70 limit is just fine. But I object to speed cameras - I'd rather get a bollocking from a copper and be let on my way for doing 81. As you say, it's down to driving to the conditions and what car you have (80 in a 1992 Fiesta or a 2015 Focus? Hmmmm) and cameras are so indiscriminate.

Because mobile phone, google tracking gps, satnav itc.

I doubt the video evidence alone convicted him, there would have been data stored on the phone as well.

When is the lasttime you checked your satnav log? if a policeman checks it and it shows you have been proceeding apace then prepare for reaming

there is of course one dead easy way to avoid that, and that is not to drive like a complete bell end.

ok look, we all speed at sometime or another. to say otherwise is either a flight of fancy, or just a barefaced lie.

but here is speeding a bit and been a total knob. and at that speed not even (insert race car drivers name of choice here) can control a car, never mind some tattooed wanker in some german shitheap.

who no doubt if he had had the inevitable accident such stupidity would cause would be blaming everyone else AND killed some poor unfortunate who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

as i said, i hope he has a really nice* time in prison. and he should have been banned from driving permanently.

It was a Skyline I believe.

well with the hun's fascination with rock hard fuggin' seats and suspension that doesn't it is cos either their hemorrhoids are about to burst or that their spleen has been shaken loose,

if i was stuck in some german heap i'd end up driving at stupid miles an hour just to be able to get out of the fucking awful thing.

You can hardly describe a car capable of doing those speeds a shit heap whether it be German Japanese or even British.

Having driven both a 2004 Merc Class for 5000 miles, and the latest 3 Series on Sheffield's finest collection of rutted tracks called 'roads' for a day, I can assure you that both cars have very decent and supple suspension as well as very good seats. However, neither car was AMG or M Sport. I've always been an SE man myself.

You need to snap out of this anti German mindset. It doesn't really do you any favours.

I love this clip, the guy was doing a mere 97mph on an A road, and due to his expert riding skills, everything was going really well

Until something outside of the riders control happened. That's when he died.

Have I done 150+ ? Yes, once in the UK 25 years ago and once in Germany 15 years ago. It's not really something to brag about because at those speeds, a tyre letting go or a transmission component or wheel bearing deciding it wants to die mean that you are going to be in a body bag along with whoever else you kill.

I look after my car quite well and know that it's more than good for 120+ with little drama. However, I wouldn't do that because...

- If I fuck up, I kill myself or others

- If I'm caught - jail.

- As quoted above, if there is a failure, I probably wouldn't ever find out about it. My next of kin might...  It's not a racing car, isn't being looked after by a team of mechanics and I don't have a 5 point harness and a helmet

And seriously, to the person who's doing their damdest to defend this arse, I think you're on the wrong forum?

Posted

How can anyone with more than one functioning braincell defend this person? He is an utter cunt, who should never be allowed on the road again. Close on 3 times the speed limit, also past the speed rating on those tyres, all it would have taken was a pop, and he would have caused utter carnage, with multiple deaths. Having lost friends and relatives in RTI's due to excessive speed, and their own fault, seeing what it does to families is utterly devastating, and at speeds like this fucking gobshite was doing, you need the reactions of a fighter pilot/F1 driver, and brakes & tyres to match. This bloke had none of the above
