I'll chuck a tenner in towards fuel costs if it would help.

I can't believe the generosity of the people on this forum. I'm honestly shocked. Thanks

Also, ignore the intervals and go with 40k max on all pre-2005 16v engines , the belt is dead thin and the pulleys are plastic. I spent most of 1999-2004 grinding in new valves to cylinder heads...

That's worrying me now, paperwork said 96k last change and it's now on 155. Mind you it's also had a stamp saying cambelt was done at 70k too?!

It's because we actually quite like you...

just to add a possible option of not as good standing as the above, I'm nearish north in chesterfield and tooled up to the hilt,,however my fitting experience revolves around tipexing marks and 40degree belt twist tension checking etc so it might not be favourable compared to someone who is pro vaux ! but even so I can lend time tools etc

Why thank you. If i'm honest when I stumbled and lost footing at auctions I did half expect someone to laugh( story of my life) but I was offered assistance instead.

Gimme a call , text , pm , carrier pidgeon let me know bub2006. Only days I can't do are Thursday and saturday as I've got two big jobs on then. Not sure there will be room for an autoshite coach party though, I'm working out of the "shack" next to my house until a unit comes up and desperately trying to keep the neighbours on side :) :)

A disparate collection of people from many different walks of life brought together by one thing - the love of old motors :)

Glad you're getting the help for this - hope it all goes smoothly:)

Funny how I still look on these as new though even though it's 13 years old now. I still think anything over p/r plate as being modern!

Thanks 320. I'm so touched by the offers of assistance for repairs etc. About time I had a decent motor I can trust!
