...is this the room for an argument?...

I am mildly surprised that not a single person here is interested in this.  Say 1200 quid?  The tyres alone cost nearly 500.   I suppose that I had better put the car on eBay.  I am not going to give this one away, as it is a borderline classic car and not just some repmobile.

Nice car but probably out of the reach of most reprobates who frequent this forum at any price above 300 quid.

I think Ken is right... it's far too nice for us lot !

I suspect it would do much better on Car&Classic or perhaps even (shudder) P*****H****.

 1200 quid?

Therein lies the rub.  For 1200 sheets Autoshiters WANT THE NEW SHAPE M8. URS IS THE OLD SHAPE.

Car and Classic is your best bet.

Therein lies the rub.  For 1200 sheets Autoshiters want four, slightly broken cars rather than a single, nice one.

Cheap car at £1200. I seem to remember I paid a grand for it last March and that was with the plastic tyres.

Ditto ebay.

Sigh. I would have liked this, but decided not to insult you with an offer.

I'm sure you can find another way to insult him.

I bet he wears funny trousers.

You could always try an otter instead.

That's just the ferret - makes you walk kinda strange.

Otter, FFS. Ferrets are chavvy.

Ferrets are way too Northern. BMW cars are only to be driven by Southerners. BMW's up North are there because the Southern drivers are lost.

Put an Otter Rehoming Charidee sticker in the back window. It will make the car a trillion times easier to sell.

Surprised you're having that much trouble shifting it? I thought it would fly off the shelves to one of those people who like to pretend they have more money than they do. A LOTOF CAR FOUR THE MONEY M9.

Posted

I think it's because most people who'd be buying this as a 2nd car/toy want a manual. The auto is probably much better if you're using it everyday though.

The problem is obvious - the listing says that you may not post to the United States - for that reason, I'm out...

However, I am interested in the otters, would you consider selling them separately?

The otters have gone into a pie, sorry.  A better fate than being subject to your perverted whims, I suppose.

The car already has a BBC Club Manchester sticker, FFS.  That should make it worth many doubloons, especially on Pistonheads.

I have the sad now.  I will have to find another use for the otter sanctuary I was building in my shed.

KNOBSOCKETS.

I went off skiing for a week. I left the E34 locked.  The battery has gone flat and now the car won't open.  The so called emergency unlocking procedure as per factory blurb doesn't work.  I am going to try taking the bulb out of the boot light and attaching a positve jump lead to the positive wire.    This is said to give enough lecky to open the doors.  Central locking IS SHIT.

If I cause explodeyness and destroy all universes by anti matter reversal of the polarity of the neutron flow, i'll report back later to say sozza.

you should be able to release the bonnet with a screwdriver theough the grill, then jumpleads to battery or positive terminal/nut on front suspension topmount.

shouls allow central locking to fire

I will give that a go, cheers.  The battery is front mounted in this one.

This happened to me - I got in using the emergency procedure from the passenger side. If you are trying the driver side it may not work (it didn't for me).

I can confirm it does. It was/is a wonderful thing to cruise around in.
