I can't work out where either of the two Shields photos are. If the 1st one is where I think it is, That big church has been pulled down.

I posted this with no info in the pics thread a couple of weeks ago.

Described as Battle Hill, Newcastle, 1975.

Had a quick look in Streetview, didn't find exact street (there are loads which look the same) but the area looks almost the same 45 years later. Didn't see a beige Marina blending into the scenery though. Might have another look, see if I can find a match.

One of the lads saw a poster in the window of  The Waterloo advertising topless bar staff ..................... in he went only to discover they were hairy arsed , male bar staff with their shirts off.

bloody hell, must have been terrifying for the passengers on the bus, and the (presumeably not at fault) metro driver too - there's nowhere to escape in those tiny cabs

It was an empty schools service bus jumped the lights at Fawdon.  Nobody seriously hurt, amazingly.
