scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Interesting but dead kitcar just appeared in the yard next door... To everone thinking it's a G26, I thought that too. No, something odd is going on. I'm sure I've seen those vents on a bluebird.... And the back is well, a bit cavalierish. Don't recognise the tailgate... So WTH? Wacky prototype, model I didn't know about or crazy person customizing? PS, if anyone knows why photobucket has stopped giving me links and is forcing me to hand code all the image URLs I'd love to know that too. Lacquer Peel, Jim Bergerac, junkyarddog and 2 others 5
junkyarddog Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Doors and side glass are Fiesta,Tailgate looks like it maybe from a mid 80's sunny coupe?
scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 All ginettas have fiesta doors, as any fule kno. Good idea about the tailgate, I'm off to google some sunny.
anonymous user Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) Definitely looks like the arse end has been custom modded, perhaps Torcars did it to replace the market they lost from putting hatches on the Princess Tailgate looks a bit Mk2 Scirroccoish also, have you acquired it? vulgalour Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 That'll be the tailgate then. loserone, anonymous user, jonathan_dyane and 1 other 4
MrBiscuits Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Looks like a Ginetta, G31. Can't find one with cavalier rear lights though.
scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Definitely looks like the arse end has been custom modded, perhaps Torcars did it to replace the market they lost from putting hatches on the Princess I'd love to believe that a plan that crazy could make it to market. Jim Bell 1
scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Looks like a Ginetta, G31. Can't find one with cavalier rear lights though. It doesn't - the G31 was shorter, a 2+2 and didn't have the fietsa rear windows. It also had a boot. MrBiscuits 1
scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 also, have you acquired it? No, I enquired but got the usual no/don't know what I'm doing with it yet response.
AlabamaShrimp Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 If you're not having it I'd love the doors. Where is it?
scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Doors are fucked. Bottoms are out and hinge pillar is flaky too. Whole car seems to have been in a damp shed for a decade tbh.
AlabamaShrimp Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Bugger on the doors. I really need the rubbers from them. Well all the bits off them as I need spares, fiesta door handles are too weak break can break in winter
scaryoldcortina Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 I'll keep an eye on it. If I get a chance to salvage bits because it#s just being raped for 2.0 pinto and 5 speed then I will. Prob is it might sit for another 5 years before that happens if previous experience is anything to go by.
michael1703 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I can see the eBay ad... Princess Anne had one of these...
garethj Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 It's a Ginetta G26, I had one and it was a good drive. A few were modified back in the '80s to take Vauxhall rear lights, although the Sunny tailgate is a new one on me. A good idea though, as while the boot itself is quite big the bootlid is tiny, so packing any kind of large object is a bit like building a ship in a bottle. anonymous user 1
New POD Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Doors and side glass are Fiesta,Tailgate looks like it maybe from a mid 80's sunny coupe? Rear wing went looks Nissan Bluebird.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Those vents look shat but the tailgate is a great mod.
autofive Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 this g26 has now 'gone to a better place' and some parts will be used for the qwertina
Squire_Dawson Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Looks like it was once a nice car. Interesting, sporty and practical.
Sigmund Fraud Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Whoever built this wanted a late Matra Bagheera but didn't like welding... brickwall 1
