I would guess that if you recieved the Volvo and gave the Saab, it's new owner already knows. That 'Torsten' gets aboout, doesn't he.

1600i is glorious, like an XR3i but with a rear anti roll bar and a stiffer shell - heavier though, welcome aboard!

4x4 Sierra sounds interesting too. Is it a 2-litre or a 2.8?

Its the 2.8 lump. I bought it a number of years ago for £50.The prev owner used it to pull a locost type racer round Europe. ATM the engine is in pieces on the garage floor and its covered with a dust sheet with boxes on the roofrack.Ill get a few pics when I go up to the lockup next.

Welcome! :D I love the Orion; so rare nowadays too it seems. They always take me back to my childhood. I used to really like them when I was a kid.

Ahem!Welcome Mr Jetronic, lovely to have you on board too, it really is a small but comfortable world!I think I can honestly say that the Saab is the fastest car I have ever owned, I'm serious! I try not to drive it too often as I am seriously frightened of loosing my licence and yet I must drive it all the time. Not as well built as the Volvo but more fun, exhaust fell off on my second drive, cracking shite, makes me smile!

Hello and welcome. :D Love the Saab, but the Orion does indeed tingle the old loins :D

Bought this a few months ago. Only had 2 pervious owners and the last had it from 1986 until I bought it back in the summer. FSH with it also -

Sounds like a grand plan for the 418 - be interested to know how well it goes once the new lump is in! I always assumed the extra 126cc made for more torque, as the peak BHP didn't change between them, but I've only ever driven 405s (and one 406) with the 1905cc TD.
