Really?

I'd read that it very wasnt.  Is that across the board, or specific pumps?

That opens up a whole new avenue of endevour!

I think the old "low blow" engine was fitted with a Lucas injection pump but the newer version has a Bosch pump and the same power as an Isuzu TD.

Didn't we used to have link to a site stickied that listed all the veg compatable cars?*

*i may have imagined this

I thought that one was fine for veg, which is why I posted it. Should be a Bosch pump, being an Astra G idi td.

12.000 miles a year at 45mpg is over a grand's saving every year if on waste veg at the going rate, worth remembering when buying a suitable car. The yearly saving on new oil is less than £300 at the best shelf prices, unless you're buying in bulk (usually ibc) at 50ppl.

Anything me or forddeliveryboy posts is 99% GR8 4 VEG guaranteed.

http://www.biomotors.co.uk/is the website with the vegability database, but certain baguette-munching cars are fitted with Bosch or Lucas pumps depending on the year.

Ah yes, the old 'I'd already seen that one' line - always sounds an unlikely story to me - ha!

So sobs, I failz. Thought you wanted better than 'good enough' - which is why I started looking in the expensive car lot.

Either buy at or just above bridge price for a veg muncher and bin it when it needs anything more than a set of plugs or a few proper fuel hose clips. Or buy something which is in properly good nick and keep it - that's the way you save real money when on waste veg. Always budget for a set of glow plugs and more engine oil no matter what the car is. Mercs have relatively complex fuel line systems and later ones with multivalve heads can be a headache.

Always remember to puncture the tank strainer and enlarge the supply line if you want frottul risponz in anything other than the three weeks of summer.

I did look at that Astra dude. Looks pretty good but too late for a Isuzu lump I think. GM Lowblow for the loss I fear.

Theres plenty out there thats good enough and in budget (potentially).  I was just looking for other peoples ideas, for which I'm grateful*.

Current watch list:

Would have to sell the 25 Gti -

Not wanting to cause any more confusion, but I'd avoid the red Astra-G as it's too early to have the Isuzu engine and has the lowblow boat anchor.  They were never decent things and I'm surprised they're not all dead by now.

Also, that early Puglet 106 is too old to have a Bosch pump, it'll be Lucas.

Any 106 that was made after 2000ish has the Bosch IP and is most suitable for alternative fuels.  They had standard PAS at that point too and can be yours for £nexttonowt.

All Corsa diesels are Isooozooo powered and have a Zexel pump, which is a Bosch copy- quite suitable but 'Corsa' :)

I took all your requirements, entered them into our computer and it came up with the perfect* match for you...

...it's perfect in every way, except it won't run on veg and is well over your budget.

I swear these kind of adverts do the best on eBay. That's already at a higher price than most 405 td estates

Pity it's just got shaded rear lights rather than lexus style ones.

I like the A4 1.9 TDi, but this seller appears to be a bit of a cunt.

"The age related marks.. I like to see it as it ads a little more character to the car." Just fuck off, you flange.

"Honest seller." A liar would say that too.

I don't agree with you there. Scars on people are evidence of character being instilled. I'd rather listen to stories from a bird with scars as opposed to one with thick make-up and fake tits.

Same goes for cars. I like them to be straight and honest. If it's got rust, it's got rust. If it's scratched, it's scratched.

Re sprays and touch ups of paint are not really for me. I think cars (and people) should accept and display their years and cosmetic imperfections without shame.

I assume humans who are not car dealers to be honest until proven otherwise. Not much point saying it, I agree, but calling the lad a cunt is a bit harsh in my opinion.

Though I don't expect anyone to give a fuck about my opinion.

Acceptance of low offers is often a sign that seller knows there's shed-loads of work needing doing, or about to be needed. In my experience.

Makes sense in theory. He might just be realistic.

Meh. The vehicle has some body damage...  fair enough, it's 15 or so years old, but what is the point of even trying to make it sound like a good thing?

Posted

Because it's best to mention it, and he doesn't want to make it sound like a big issue I suppose.

Ah man.

I've just noticed the Paul Walker stickers.

So disappoint.

I take it all back. Definite cunt.

Buy that Merc it's even got a tow bar for towing your speedboat, which you'll need to buy once you get a car with a tow bar.
