Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I had a set of those cromadora alloys (off a Fiat 124 coupe), sold them to some guinness-slurper for about 350 quid 10 years ago

DodgyBastard Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 About a month ago I spotted this on ebay. Another one! by srblythe, on Flickr I put a bid on it of £110 then got outbid so put a max bid of £150, the auction ended at £153 and that was that, I missed out on a 305 over £3...I pretty much forgot about the 305 until the seller emailed me saying the winning bidder had been a time waster and did I want it for £110 as that was my previous maximum bid before the other guy bid me up.Of course I wanted it but I had one small issue, I had spent a fair bit of money this month and didn't have very much money left so I put the 309 up for sale and to my surprise it sold quite quickly, I got lucky I think. C U Laterz! DSC_0622 by srblythe, on Flickr With some spare cash in my pocket I travelled down to Morpeth to pay for the 305 and try and blag a free tow from the AA. DSC_0639 by srblythe, on Flickr Since the ebay photos were taken a fair few months previously the car had been put inside and the tyres had deflated. We used a battery I brought with me and a small compressor to inflate the tyres, I drove it around the block, the brakes were non existent, a cloud of blue haze flowed behind me and the water pump was leaking a fair amount of water. You can see how smoky it was in the video. I called the AA and waited for them to come out, the AA guy checked over the leaking water pump and agreed it was knackered then he said there was nothing more he could do. He said it was sorn with no mot and he couldn't legally tow it. At this point I was kicking myself for not swapping the plates from my road legal gold 305 but I'll remember for next time that the AA sometimes check these things.I dumped the car on the sellers driveway and agreed to make arrangements asap to get the car moved. The next day one of my local recovery guys offered to move the car for £150 so I accepted and it was dropped off last night. Peugeot 305's by srblythe, on Flickr Peugeot 305's by srblythe, on Flickr Mrs Foad expressed some interest in having it so I think it's going to get saved rather than used for spares. I had a better look today in the daylight, it's not actually too bad... The blue saloon still needs a set of clocks, I borrowed the red ones clocks, fitted them to the blue car and all the lights work so instead of raping the red car for parts I'm going to try and source more parts from french ebay and hopefully have 3 305's on the road. I also had another go at painting this set of rallye steels. DSC_0705 by srblythe, on Flickr They need a few more coats but they will do. I think they will look good on the blue 305. dollywobbler Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 A photo of three 305s is just something you don't expect to see these days. Marvellous.

jonathan_dyane Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Looks great. I've always had a soft spot for 305s. DodgyBastard 1
Dick Cheeseburger Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 So is your gold 305 a posh one? I see it has roof rails, but the red one doesn't. Estate still looks a handsome looking thing.
DodgyBastard Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 So is your gold 305 a posh one? I see it has roof rails, but the red one doesn't. Estate still looks a handsome looking thing. The gold one is an SRD which is apparently the top spec diesel model, the SRD has a beige dash and lovely* tweed interior. The red is a GLD, black dash and cloth interior, everything else is pretty much the same.
Dick Cheeseburger Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Gold one definitely rocks the roof rails pretty well. Never even heard of an SRD model. Mother had a GRD 205 years back and that was pretty well specced iirc.
Faker Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Love the red one. In fact them all! Is the GTX not the top of the range?
Faker Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I took this foto a couple of years ago. One owner with 32k. 1.9 petrol GTX. Twas a thing of beauty. Was parked / stored away shortly after the pic was taken. Now covered in dust with a hefty price tag. Dick Cheeseburger and Bren 2

rantingYoof Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 There must be only one or two manual Sigma V6 estates in the country. It should really go to a specialised enthusiast who doesn't have fourteen other cars diverting attention away from it. On the other hand, I can see that ending up severely dubbed with a rusty bonnet and a Tesco trolley on the roof so please buy it and keep it safe from such people!
