bigfella2 Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Don't do it black, that will really show up any imperfections, lighter colour better. Orange would look great imo. Fumbler, Shite Ron and Tam 3
Fumbler Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 I'm sure magnolia would look nice... or the blue colour that the car already has perhaps.
dave j Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Are you going to take it back to the same mot tester? I bet he wouldn't expect to see that car ever again! It's good that it look like a car again, I quite like the blue

It's good that it look like a car again, I quite like the blue Expand It'll be going back to the same mot tester, it's the same place I take all of my cars and had previously mentioned to him the Chevette was hanging. Looking at the bigger picture, he has done me a favour by giving me a comprehensive list of stuff to work through and the end result will be a better and safer car. I feel like I'm having to constantly defend the tester from people saying he's an arsehole for failing it and I should have taken the car elsewhere. It was fucked, no mot tester would have passed it. danthecapriman Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I like the blue too, but I wouldn’t paint it! Leave it as it is. Solid but with the mismatched panels. dozeydustman Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Good work on the shoveit. Several tickets when the time comes. They used to come in a really nice metallic bronze which I always thought suited them When I had money to fritter away on cars most of the Chevettes I could find for sale were normally improved* with a Vauxhall red top or a Ford Pinto for Max PowerYo! DodgyBastard Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 My Lawnmowers starter died at the weekend which led to may different ways of trying to get it started like using a rope on the pulley as a pull start, or an impact gun on the crank bolt, neither worked so I gave in and bought another starter. It arrived earlier so I fitted it and had another play, I have no idea why I find this little thing so much fun...; Mrs6C, garbaldy and The Moog 3

Zelandeth Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 They are astonishingly capable off road. The 1.7i versions even more so as they've got a useful amount more torque available. The coil packs seem largely unbothered by water too which is a bonus! DodgyBastard and LightBulbFun 2
