greengartside Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I like the blue as well, it does suit it. Tenmil Socket 1
danthecapriman Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I like the blue too, but I wouldn’t paint it! Leave it as it is. Solid but with the mismatched panels. Saying that, I do like that orange you used to see the Opel versions in. Opel Kadett C 1200 1977, Bremen Schuppen 1 by Vectron X4E, on Flickr Dick Cheeseburger, CreepingJesus and bigfella2 3

dozeydustman Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Good work on the shoveit. Several tickets when the time comes. They used to come in a really nice metallic bronze which I always thought suited them When I had money to fritter away on cars most of the Chevettes I could find for sale were normally improved* with a Vauxhall red top or a Ford Pinto for Max PowerYo! DodgyBastard Posted May 10, 2020 Author Posted May 10, 2020 Chevette Progress. Passenger door repaired, hole in sill repaired, inner and outer arch repaired. Various off cuts from other panels were used to make the shape of the outer lip including a volvo 340 wheel arch and some sections of the old inner arch which was completely replaced on the other side. DodgyBastard Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 My Lawnmowers starter died at the weekend which led to may different ways of trying to get it started like using a rope on the pulley as a pull start, or an impact gun on the crank bolt, neither worked so I gave in and bought another starter. It arrived earlier so I fitted it and had another play, I have no idea why I find this little thing so much fun...; The Moog, Mrs6C and garbaldy 3
garbaldy Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Should have said I've got starters here and passed your way today too. I've got a single cylinder diesel ride on here if you want to have some more fun using less fuel

Zelandeth Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 They are astonishingly capable off road. The 1.7i versions even more so as they've got a useful amount more torque available. The coil packs seem largely unbothered by water too which is a bonus! DodgyBastard and LightBulbFun 2

DodgyBastard Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 Did a pulley swap on the old lawnmower making it a little bit faster! Also fitted a massive exhaust for a laugh but it didn't make a difference to the sound of it. Next plan is to make an accelerator pedal on the floor and to weld the diff. DodgyBastard Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Spotted this for sale this morning so went along and bought it. It drove fine apart from a very annoying oil pressure warning buzzer sounding randomly for different lengths of time. I didn't have any oil on me so just gave it a quick check on the way home and seen there was definitely oil in there, it wasn't until I was back and on level ground I checked and it was way above the maximum level on the dipstick. IMG_3137 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_3138 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_3139 by srblythe, on Flickr First thing I did when I got home was changed the oil, then fitted a matching set of wheels then fitted a stereo. The oil warning buzzer hasn't been on since. IMG_3141 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_3143 by srblythe, on Flickr Tickman, danthecapriman, BlankFrank and 18 others 21
