I was planning on getting rid of the Skoda anyway so sold it for £150.

I bought it in November 2018 for £275 to use in a film, I think I got £200 for the film so the car really only owed me £75. I had 14 months of trouble free motoring and never spent anything on it so getting £150 for it was pretty good. I removed the pair of winter tyres, the head unit and battery and for ultimate mingebaggery I removed all of the bulbs and wiper blades...

I had some help today, my friend who works on classic cars for a living came along and made up some bits and pieces. A far nicer looking job than I'd have done...

Common sense can easily go out the window when dealing with cars like this can't they.

I get the impression that this is one of those that you just like, it's got under your skin and it will stay on the road come Hell or high water...

Fair enough too, can't mind last time I saw a Chevette.

Good to see the Chevette getting the treatment. Is your mate going to sort the arch as well?

Yes, I have a pair of outer wheel arch repair panels,  my friend drew around the panel before cutting out the section of wheel arch. I'm trying to decide whether to buy an inner arch panel for £60 or just try patching up the inner before fitting the outer. I suppose having the repair panel would speed the job up. I have no chance of finishing for the retest.

I'd buy the arch panel if it's available, it'll be much easier and save a lot of time. Saying that it looks like you've got much more inner arch left than on the Justy I did. It was an absolute arse to try and make up a strip and position it to the inner wing as I had no reference points left to work to.

Nice save anyway, the vast majority wouldn't have bothered :-)

Ooh, do tell!

Doesn't look that far gone from that photo... though it's not the best!

It's £1200 with mot until April, it's the same age as my current one.

It looks a little bit frilly around the arches but it's probably a little bit more usable than the current Chevette.
