Also fitted 306 Speedline-esque trims to the rear steels. Looks like a full set of matching wheels if you squint.

Added security decal.

New clutch kit, cable and radiator were fitted yesterday. Old clutch was very sad and the cable was very notchy.

Driving experience is transformed. Clutch bites clean and the pedal is light as a feather. Really pleased with the result. Which is exactly what you would expect from a clutch change.

New radiator slotted right in.

Extra hole was capped off with the correct Allen key bung thing from a 205 1.8D radiator.

All happy with no bodges. Thanks again to Dougongs for finding the part.

Happy coolant system is happy.

The labour ended up standing £300, including rear shoe change and rear brake handbrake adjustment.

That's a lot of money to me, but the clutch ended up being a gear box out and pedal out job to change the kit and cable. Pressed back into daily commuting duties today and it's good to have it back on hand.

As is often the way, as soon as I get something sorted, I fancy something else.

Specifically, another XUD Peugeot with a Bosch Pump.

I am offering the 305 for sale.

I don't expect it to sell here at this price, but am open to part ex'es in the vein of the above.

Work done shown below.  All receipts will come with the car.

Genuine Peugeot Clutch kit and cable.

Genuine Radiator from Elim Peugeot in Llangefni.

Genuine Peugeot Disks and Pads come with the car.

Things of note:

All of the cars plus and minus points are listed honestly in this thread.  As can be seen in the under-car pics, both rear shocks are leaking to some extent.  The back end however, rebounds and settles as it should under bounce test conditions.  The temp gauge does'nt work, but I do have a new sender to try (car has done over 400 miles in one shot, on a baking day, with the old radiator without any cooling issues, so the temp gauge isnt hiding any issues).

There is a squeak from the rear passenger side over bumps.  Sounds like the spring to be honoest, but people have suggested rear arm bearings.  I dont think theres any adverse camber though (see below).

Needs a good clean inside.

There is some light surface rust on the rear passenger door bottom and on the tailgate below the screen.

The rear arches have been welded and painted badly, but are solid.

Car will be sold on original steel wheels. Spare seen in in some pics on the front passenger corner is now back in the cradle.

Good bits:

Its a good solid low mileage 305 1.7 D Estate, with a full service history.  Bar the temp gauge, EVERYTHING WORKS.

It owes me well over a thoosand poonds, price to a shitter is £750.  Car is located in North East England NE30. Close to Aberdeen, Devon and Dover, depending on your attitude on driving.

No rush to sell, using it every day to commute.  Its even been papped by the AS FB division.

I am assuming you are buying an XUD powered full house 205 T16 rally car as that's the only Pug I'd sell that little beaut for.

With the money you've already invested in it, is it worth acquiring the bits you need to convert it to Bosch systems?

It's diesel AND an estate... That's practical...

Clearly I need a bigger overdraft.

I would be all over this if I didn't have so many cars!

Hnnnnng... ticks most of the boxes of what I need rather than what I have.

No money. No can has. Such sad.

Forgot to say, it also comes with a New Old Stock rear passenger door skin. The door bottom isn't bad really, but I picked one up as it was going cheap, and parts are getting rate.

It looks like it's had a quiet night in with Michael Barrymoore. The poor thing.

There was a red estate there too and the gtx saloon. I was looking at what the doors were like but they're all quite bad...

Now not sold. Autoshiter pulled out after having said he was having it hours earlier. Happens to the best of us.

eBay beckons.

Before ebay, wouldn't it be worth a shot on C&C and the blue forum first - both are free.

Its been on the Blue for a long time. Being unlowered, unmodified and uncool its gone down like a fart in a biscuit tin full of mice. C&C is a decent shout but things that sell well there tend to be immaculate, or great. Or close. Or you have to wait 18 months for the right buyer.

This 305 is just an honest old bus, scabs and all.  Not gonna win any trophies.

I have £1200 ish in it (inc labour), with receipts for everything (inc labour).

If anyone wants to offer while the auction is running, give me a shout.  I'd rather it went to a shitter, even at a larger loss.
