Sorry but no epic collection thread here - Warrington to Altrincham is hardly an adventure. I went there to collect this -

Dont laugh - I may possibly be the first person in history to own an audi who is'nt a complete wanker. I was originally looking for an S4, but I did'nt have big enough minerals to spend nearly £8k on a car. Then I saw this - 2004, one owner from new (In Runcorn), genuine 50k on the clock with service history.

The spec was a big attraction - 2.4 V6 with a six speed manual box. It has leather, climate control and many other refinements, however in the grand scheme of things it is giffer spec - I was thinking rover 2300, granada 2.4 or senator 2.5. I had a look, a test drive, and left a deposit. It was not cheap, but it is better to pay a bit more for a car with provenance.

Considering it has a modest 177 hp it goes quite well, it wont win many traffic light gp's but it is smooth and very quiet. I have given the exterior a wash, it has more scratches and chips than my vectra (but to be fair the bodywork on that was exceptional), there are some marks to the alloys and the winter tyres, although having plenty of tread, are a mixture of dunlop/pirelli/continental - top brands, however mixed makes of tyre really grip my shit - one of my pet hates. If it was a quattro I would have walked.

Things to do? I have ordered a genuine first aid kit ( I am anal about these things) and I am watching a set of mud flaps on shitebay. Although there are bills/invoices and the pack that came with the car, the service book has gone awol - as the previous keeper is local I may get in touch to see if he still has it.

I am fairly happy with the car - it is petrol, has six cylinders and is'nt a vectra.

Looks alright that, on Oxford plates too. VAG UK HQ?

Nice car, good spec. petrol engines in this class are so rare and you did well to avoid Multichronics, CVTs are for Dafs and Milkfloats.

I've been close to buying an A6 a couple of times, then the juvenile side of me thinks Drift Yo!! And I buy a BMW. Those A6s just look right though and the boot is the biggest I've ever seen this side of a 60/70's Yank.

Oh and the VAG HQ is in Milton Keynes so unlikely a management car, although the fact everybody and his dog that works for VW gets 3 lease cars 3 times a year and most go for Audis, 90% of em must start out that way

That looks like a nice car, and sixes are heaps smoother than fours.  Out of curiousity, does it have the optional indicators pack?  Very few Audi owners select it, and several have been known to make warranty claims when strange flashy orange lights happen as they admire their Audi reflection in shop windows :-)  :-) .  Prejudices aside, well bought.

How fast does it go Mr?

Is it a Quattro? I had an S-Line LeMong Diesel one for a couple of years and the ride was totally destroyed by the sports suspension and 19" wheels.

Lovely interior though

Nice car and that V6 is a peach, such a smooth but revvy engine

Not shite though sorry

Needs a coil cut off each spring and some Nitromors on the bonnet.

From the photos I would almost think you are selling it on ebay already?

Looks an absolutely brand new car to me.

But then in fairness I am still reeling from the transformation Vauxhall did to the Mk 1 Carlton - and that was over 30 years ago.

When I worked for Audi we got a new lease car every 6 months. I always got a Skoda as I thought they were better cars.

They were either Oxford or Northampton registered,

Looks good. These are Ok cars. Tried a similar S6 which was stupidly fast.

A rather steep £285 per year.

I am still trying to get my head around the multi media interface, which controls everything in the car.

It even tells you the condition of the battery. So i no longer need my multi meter.

I actually found when I had an A4 recently that I drove more aggressively than I did in the Mondeo.  There must just be something about Audis.  I never once flashed anyone out of my way on the motorway though.

Bills from the local audi main stealer for servicing.

It must have dawned on the previous owner that despite free coffee and free car cleaning he was getting his Gregory Pecks pulled down by Audi, the car was then serviced by a local garage.

In true shite fashion, there is as much chance of me taking it to audi as there is the borough of Halton being won by the conservatives.
