I'm running tight for time as I ended up staying back at work, so I'm thinking of giving it a miss tonight but setting off first thing in the morning to Llangolen - which should see me getting there for around 10am.

I don't know which way the southern shiters sat navs are going to send them, but if on the M6 then take the M54 past Telford, then follow A5/A483 past Shrewsbury, into Oswestry then turn right and Llangollen is signposted off the A483.

 

I missed you sorry, DW, saw your trailer tent though! I stopped for about 40 minutes or so, then had an ace drive home past the Ponderosa and had a bit of fun with a couple of MX5s.

I'm home, somewhat knackered after a rather hectic week and 4hr drive back from Southampton.

I'm going to see how I feel in an hour or so, but as things stand I don't fancy another 3hrs+ driving today, so will likely see you in Llangollen the morning.

Take A5 West to Corwen.

Turn left after leaving Corwen onto B4401 through Llandrillo.

Turn left just after Brynterion Inn up B4402 to a T junction with B4391.

Option: Turn right onto B4391 taking narrow singletrack road left, through Rhos y gwaliau to upper end of Lake Vyrnwy.

Turn left onto B4391 through Llangynog to Penybontfawr.

Turn right onto B4396 to Lake Vyrnwy

Optional: circuit of the lake

From the north of the dam head East on B4393. Turn right onto B4395 to the T junction with A458.

Turn right onto A458 and follow to the roundabout with A470.

Option: before the roundabout, turn left down onto narrow singletrack road (on LH bend, opposite white house with post-box outside) and follow to Llanbrynmair.

Turn left onto A470, and left at the next roundabout to stay on the same road to Llanbrynmair.

Turn right onto B4518 to Llyn Clywedog and Llanidloes.

Turn right at T junction in Llanidloes, then left at roundabout to join A470.

Turn right onto A470 to Llangurig.

At Llangurig turn right at the roundabout onto A44 towards Aberystwyth.

At Ponterwyd turn left onto A4120 to Devil’s Bridge.

At Devil’s Bridge turn left just before the Hafod hotel onto B4574, then shortly turn right into SF ’15!

Standard didn`t want to play

 

Had problems with the brakes, then when I had done that I took it for a spin. It started to rain. Wipers don`t seem to work anymore.

 

Such a crap week, was so despondent and this was at around 6pm so decided not to go. Shall probably head over in morning. What time are you all leaving Llangollen? I may bring an MX5 instead,after all the work it seems a shame but rushing around in the Standard isn`t a lot of fun.

According to Mr. Wobbler (on the previous page) he said probably not leaving Llangollen before lunchtime.

 

My revised plan is:

I aim to get to Llangollen museum for 9-10am tomorrow, meet campers, mooch around museum, possible food, then drive down to Devils Br/Hafod for beer, banter and more food.
