andy18s
You'd just need a getrag box of a 3.0 s type jag, a sump and pickup from the jag, to make the engine suitable for rwd, the same idea has already gone through my head in the pastI'd be very interested in how this would work outGot an idea thats been bubbling away for a while
Inspector Morose
Yo, AS Midlands Massiv - shall we go here instead of the auctions? Just for a change, like? Pillock, is there a decent* breakfast destination nearby?Sounds a plan. It's Derby, how hard can finding a greasy spoon nearby be? chaseracer

chaseracer
Are scrapyard batteries any good, or do you take your chances? Is testing them with a multimeter asking for a punch in the face?
Louise2cv
I'm wondering the same chaseracer, doesn't Vulgalour have some experience of scrapyard bought batteries?
bub2006
I don't mind going down with a multi meter, wouldn't appreciate a punch to the face though.
nacho man
There is normally a burger type van thingy in b n q which is just about next door I am a pretty much newcomer to derby but I know Alvaston has a few old school greasy spoons and is five mins away max. AlabamaShrimp
Feel like a broken record whenever a thread like this comes up, but, if they have any mk1 or 2 fiestas I'm after small easy to get off bits for mine
Pillock
You get a 30 day warranty on the batteries, they weren't mega-cheap at £26, with a fiver knocked off that for taking your old one in though - but still a third of the price of a new one. If it's shagged you're going to find out within the 30 days so all you have to lose is the return journey to swap it over. They do test them first. Also there's no laminated reference book - a guy just stopped fitting a tyre for a woman (who amusingly looked like some proper posh business type, but they'd still given her an oily high-vis and made her stand around in the puddles of unknown liquids in her shiny heels), glanced at my battery, slid another one across the counter and reckoned it was the closest fit. It was, probably 1/4" taller but no biggie, base size and terminals spot on. chaseracer
theorganist
I'm wondering the same chaseracer, doesn't Vulgalour have some experience of scrapyard bought batteries? The batteries on both my cars were from scrapyards and perform fine. The one in the Talbot had plenty of power even when I left in standing for a month!
