Anyone want to save a Fiat Uno?

Anyone want to save an Uno? I saw it being driven yesterday but didn't know the driver was taking it to the scrapyard. It now sits outside Allparts in Bonnybridge. I had a quick look underneath and floors, sills and arches are all solid. Now quite rare so seems a shame.

Does seem a shame to scrap what looks like a superficially solid car.  Italian plates on it, I think?  If it were RHD it'd stand a better chance of rescue.

Don't get me wrong, I'm tempted, it's just the sort of stupid thing I'd agree to buy since it's a four hour drive away, I have no need of it, there's no profit in it and there's likely a nightmare of import nonsense to deal with.  I do hate to see a good anything wasted and an Uno that looks that tidy in the UK is a very rare thing, regardless of which side they bolted the steering wheel to.

^ Agreed - not had one myself but driven a few owned by friends and they are pretty good hacks. As you say, shame to see something otherwise OK getting binned off.

what does the note say

shame as its 500 mile round trip

would the polis mind it being towed home on a halfords tow pole :D

The note says the owner will be back in the morning to scrap it and includes a contact number

Nah, you have to register it, get it MOT'd, does all of this sound familiar? At least it isn't from Jersey.

No rust though. Could yield some bits, for which the scrappy its sitting outside charges £££££££££s.

It's italian, it has to have rust somewhere. Anyway, rust is character building.

Hope it gets saved/crushed/burned/abducted by aliens (please delete as appropriate).

Why would any car manufacturer call a car a ' Uno Start '?

LHD Uno on Johnny Foreigner plates?

Whats not to love? Think of the mahoosive savings in road tax, MOT and insurance? No?

I should think at 8AM a teleporter will pick it up and crushe the sills and exhaust whether it gets broken or not.

14 hours to save it

Lol! Ironic that they made an Uno Start model on the mk2 considering thats the 1 thing the mk1 my dad had when I was kneehigh to a grasshopper wouldn't do, ever. Jump/bump started every morning without fail owing to the vents on the bonnet allowing water into somewhere whenever it rained (practically every day in Scotland)
