I had to sell a car to fund it so sold Derskine another of my hand painted cast offs...

Should be getting it picked up on Friday from the arse end of nowhere at a cost of £200 for the car and £200 for the transportation.

£400 all in seems good.

It's an auto, starts and stops, needs light recommissioning then it'll be ready for road...

See red 1981 Princess for just how much of an understatement that can be.

I love the headlight wipers on these.

I'm normally a Volvo man when it comes to swedes but that Saab is awesome! I love the colour of it too. Please don't repaint it or get rid of the rusty scabby bits!

Looking forward to more pics and collection.

Think it needs a coat of matt black, a roof rack and a couple of pineapples.

Now sit in the corner and write out "I will not encourage scene modifications even if it was meant sarcastically" 1000 times any further crimes and the old school ford tax enforcement officers will impound your cortina for a month

There ought to be a new range of humorous* greetings cards in the style of the old Love Is... ones.

Derskine is so scene...

I'm so looking forward to a headlamp wiper video, though I'm already having sleepless nights as they look to be out of position. Please don't be broken!

I've got some bad news regarding the wipers, They don't appear to work... Neither do the windscreen wipers or the heaters so here's hoping it's something simple to fix...

The battery was too flat so used the one from the Proton.

Had it running for a while, the battery light came on so will need the alternator looked at, It was firing on 3 cylinders to begin with but when it warmed up it ran fine, Possibly dampness etc. The exhaust is hanging off making it difficult to drive without it scraping the ground. It sounds lovely and seems to select gears fine. There were a few strange noises at times, I think they were coming from the carbs... A few weekends of work should see some progress on it.

I wondered who the workie was who turned up in the transit and parked at a funny angle...

I was going to park properly but I saw the camera and tried to park out of the way to avoid unwelcome 21st century content in the pictures :D.

I'm wondering if the alternator and all the other non-working things are because a wire is off somewhere.

Well bought, especially in that hideous colour (opal green ?) I had a 96L of similar vintage in the same colour, a photo doesn't do justice to it :)  The finishing touch would of course be  EMS soccerball alloys, assuming it is the one with the handbrake working on the front calipers. I just happen to know someone who has a set in shed  which may just be available for a nominal price ;)

If you could find out that would be great, I'm really not liking the look of the steel wheels.

No real progress, ran a multimeter over the battery and it was reading 13.5 volts with the engine running. Also took the under dash panel off to reveal a few odd wires not going anywhere, some of them live...

Moe pics!

That really is ace.  Lime green car, burgundy velour interior, it's a winning combination.  Good luck for the MoT!
