richardthestag Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Completely gash but the rest of it looks really nice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/range-rover-classic-/111497892289 Bet that rides shit too it is running 20" alloys sport wheels on hub adaptors we do have the oridgernal wheels if you wish them to be changed over. Phew that's lucky then any other shit rimz out there scruff 1
DS20 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Reminds me of the Discovery I spotted while in America in August (this in Portsmouth VA). I can't see any reason to do this sort of thing.
mercrocker Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Gopping.....And I really don't want to think about any reason, because reason leads to understanding. Those L-Rs remind me of when Matchbox decided to put Superfast wide wheels on everything that moved, from Mercedes ambulances to Iron Fairey cranes. So, we can blame Hot Wheels for the whole t'ing..... Junkman, blakey79, dave21478 and 1 other 4
KruJoe Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Inappropriate spelling too. But other than that, yes, the above images are GOPPING. If you dislike this sort of thing, steer clear of "Kahn" on Canal Road in Bradford. John F 1
DS20 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 And they've disabled the air-suspension, putting it on springs instead. Grmmmph.
eddyramrod Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Spotted this in Vegas in 2010... we've seen them on other US trips too, I can't possibly approve! mercrocker 1
Spiny Norman Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Even without going to these extremes I hate seeing modern 16/17" RIMMZZZ on 70s & 80s cars. Old BMWs seem particularly prone to getting mahoosive BBS clones fitted where 14" Alpinas was the order of the day. eddyramrod, mercrocker, warren t claim and 2 others 5
gordonbennet Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 aarrgh my eyes i bloody hate 4x4's on 20" wheels, even when they're makers own on RR Sports, too chavtastic...pick ups on idiot wheels are the pits eddyramrod and richardthestag 2
mercrocker Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Jeez, Eddie that Chevy is the pits....See! It IS Hot Wheels' fault! eddyramrod and myglaren 2
KruJoe Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Correct Gordon_Bennet.This sort of behavior needs to be made illegal. gordonbennet, myglaren and eddyramrod 3
Cheggers Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Completely gash but the rest of it looks really nice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/range-rover-classic-/111497892289 Bet that rides shit too Phew that's lucky then any other shit rimz out there It takes a special type of fuckwit to come up with "oridgernal"...makes you proud. myglaren, richardthestag and scruff 3
forddeliveryboy Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I think it's gone so far, there's the possibility of a return to the 195/65R15 then the 165x14. Or the modern equivalent, a 205x19? Along with springs which allow the body to remain stationary (in the y-axis) as the wheels move to the shape of the road. Comfort will be the latest thing, by 2020 - with the trend started by Mercedes Benz licencing its Magic Body Control technology, the electronic thing which makes a car ride like a CX but without the roundabout heeling to frighten the nervous driver.
Wackeldackel Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 There's so many videos of this sort of stuff but this one just made me think, why even bother. Surely the fact that you can afford a 5 litre lwb 7 series is flashy enough no?
rml2345 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 All the wheels in this thread are HIDEOUS but that Chevy takes the biscuit. How many mind altering drugs are required before that becomes a good idea? myglaren and Wackeldackel 2
gordonbennet Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Dear God that 7 series takes the biscuit, are the tyres sprayed on? myglaren 1
forddeliveryboy Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 A suggestion for those want to look 'cool': NorfolkNWeigh, doobietoo, myglaren and 9 others 12
Rusty_Rocket Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Some great pictures in this thread The thing is, that RR in the first post would be an absolute honey with the correct, original wheels on it. richardthestag 1

robinmasters Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I Googled 'British donk' thinking I'd find pictures of Allegros with 20" chrome rimz, but as well as meaning 'car with big enough wheels to make the world turn backwards', apparently donk also means a lady's big bottom. myglaren and mouseflakes 2
Alusilber Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 100_0759.jpgSpotted this in Vegas in 2010... we've seen them on other US trips too, I can't possibly approve! That reminds me of the 924 driven by a visitor I saw in my works car park some years ago - the aftermarket alloys on it were so big, they actually noticeably increased its ground clearance...

Partridge Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I have a thing about wheels. Ill-suited alloys are one of my pet hates, on a par with clouded headlights. And three spoke alloy wheels? Why? Why?
NorfolkNWeigh Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I have a thing about wheels. Ill-suited alloys are one of my pet hates, on a par with clouded headlights. And three spoke alloy wheels? Why? Why?Because SAAB. DS20 and doobietoo 2
scruff Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Steels are where it's at. Mind, my RR has four spoke alloys.
NorfolkNWeigh Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 This thread is as good a place as any to ask opinions.Would cross spokes be Inn a pro pirate for my 530d ? These wheelsOn this car I know the sensible thing would be to buy a 635 but I don't think the council will let me plate it for work.
the judge Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 How bad must those donks drive. Just fucking shite. Not autoshite,we have standards. Oversize wheels=Gobshite Rusty_Rocket 1
doobietoo Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I have a thing about wheels. Ill-suited alloys are one of my pet hates, on a par with clouded headlights. And three spoke alloy wheels? Why? Why? Because the 90's ???
Fabergé Greggs Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 This thread is as good a place as any to ask opinions.Would cross spokes be Inn a pro pirate for my 530d ? These wheelsimage.jpgOn this carimage.jpg I know the sensible thing would be to buy a 635 but I don't think the council will let me plate it for work.I've seen some modern beemers rolling around on cross spoke style bbs's and I reckon it's about the only car age/wheel age mismatch that works.
