That's awful, what a shower of cunts. You say it happened yesterday morning, I'm assuming it happened in the wee small hours?

Wee hours is our best guess. Didnt leave the flat till midday yesterday and suddenly saw the passenger door flapping in the wind. Still mystified as to why they broke the steering column when they clearly couldnt drive it anywhere with my Alto and a big VW van blocking it in.

Its now at my new place until we can work something else out. Id hoped to announce my new lockup complete with engine hoist under better circumstances. Only got the keys on Saturday afterno. I robbed the steering column out of my Y10 and transplanted in order to shift it. Drove as well as ever.

I mean, why? Of all the vehicles to try and steal? Not that this fine beast is not an object of great desire to those of the correct mindset, but I didn't imagine that would include the local disreputable youths.

I think we can all agree that this is pretty fucking shit overall but in no way Skuts fault. I'm just thankful that it hasn't ended the same way that Triggers Belmont did.

But anyway, many thanks to Skut for sorting a door and steering wheel so quickly, now does anyone have a lead on a steering column? I've got a contact I'm going to have a talk with and see what can be done, hopefully we'll be able to get one to Scotchland ASAP and get this mended.

Because they mistook it for a Cinq and fancied a go in the Clunge mobile?

Utter bastards. At least it was boxed in...

News in from Twitter, if it's just the ignition barrel and steering lock that are jiggered then it is a generic fiat part; 59232004 is the part number, so it should be possible to source this from Pandas, Cromas, Deltas and other Fiat group 80s models.

If not, there is a few new ones in Italy for €99 on eBay. If the entire column is bollocksed then this may be a little more of a search.

Got this getting mailed tomorrow. Its not adjustable but it should get the car mobile

Right then gang, I'm hoping this is mobile again now. Is anyone interested in buying this mobile shenanigan or am I going to have to work out a hair brained plan to get it back to Devon, and make a proper effort at selling it?

It's ready for whoever wants it as long as you don't mind a white passenger door. I'll get some pictures up when i visit the workshop later in the week.

Just saw the door breaking episode. Hope the sub-human scum that did it get the kicking they deserve.

I don't have the space! I'd love to have it, but I don't have any room for it at the moment, I'd need to have some circumstances change to allow it in.

Ok then, well worst comes to the worst I might be able to sort some sort of multi vehicle extravaganza to collect it, unless there is any way to Shitely it to Lancashire where I could easily pick it up in just over a weeks time?

Posted

I think if I had the car and spares together, I could then do a proper sale ad and get it sold pretty quick smart.

Jesus, I can't believe I'm asking this, but: Skut - would there be any problem with you storing this in your unit until I can get sorted? I can pay storage costs if they're not too much (not directed at you, but just in general!)

Phil - how many spares are there? How many times will they fill a Peugeot 106?

And I'm even later catching up with the news.... fucking oxygen-thieving shitheads

Although I am in no position to own it, I have enjoyed following this little car's adventures - long may they continue.

Any updates on if this is being sold to M'Coli?

If not, then is there any way that this can make its way to Lancashire for next weekend?

M'Coli has aked me to store it until he has space available and has suggested contributing its storage costs which I'm fine with.  I can't take it to Lancashire as my girlfriends father is in the process of passing away and is in a palliative care unit so with a child to look after I don't have the time to drive it anywhere.

Damn Skut, I'm sorry to hear that and hope the next short while is as good as it can be.

I was wondering if there a shite relay option available as it would be way too much to expect you to do that by yourself, especially with everything you've done to the car already. I get hold of M'Coli and see what's happening before I try and sort any thing else
