I want to get my T25 Camper back on the road after a 3 year 'rest' .... So my Citroen is up for sale

Citroen Xantia Activa 2.0 Turbo Series 1

1997

85000 genuine miles

This car was in storage for 6 years before I bought it from Westroen in Gloucestershire hence the low mileage.

MOT till May 2015.

I haven't used this since I Mot'd it... I replaced the front discs and pads and the rear pads for the MOT.

Goes really well and the suspension works as it should.... including the hydraulic rams... So it's fantastic around the twisties.

When I bought it Jim Eastment from the FCF kindly checked it over with a Lexia and gave it a clean bill of health apart from it needing a couple of Spheres which I had replaced at Pleiades in Cambridgeshire including the difficult to get at one under the battery tray.

It's in Mauritius Blue...

It had lacquer peel on the roof which was bad so I resprayed it ...

It's not a great job but looks a thousand times better than the lacquer peel version.

There's no rust on the rear door jambs (a Xant weak point) though there is a small dent on the n/s front wing and door and various scratches.

It has a good set of Michelin Energy Savers with plenty of meat on them.

£650 for this one.

I'm in Birmingham.

Both very well-built cars which last longer than the average German. GLWTS. Whereabouts are you?

Exactamundo. I REALLY want one of these. And I mean REALLY.

Trying to think of some way of doing it but as I am sooooooo overdrawn at the mo and will be fooked for the next few months I am not sure how I can manage it. I suppose I could credit card it but need to clear my credit cards before I remortgage in Feb and I have no storage so am damned on all counts FFS.

I am trying to think of a way of justifying the Xantia as well, but am having trouble.

Can we have pics please to tempt/torture us more.

If you do find some way of justifying it can I have first dibs when you choose to move it on  ;-)

T5 sounds fun! Don't suppose you fancy swapping for my C900 Turbo?

Posted

Shame they didn't send the Activa over to us with the 2.1td or V6. I'd have snapped your fingers off had it run on veg, chris.

Yes it really is a hoot to drive...

Though I'm really needing the cash for these JD....

But if they hang around I might be interested in a swap...

Tell me about your Saab.

There was a 2.1td Activa on Ebay UK a couple of months ago ...

It was LHD on UK plates.

Though I think UK market 2.1s had the Lucas Epic pump not sure if the French market ones did.

That looks bloody lovely HillmanImp ... Could just see me dusting off my long leather coat and donning my old man's (unused) driving gloves .... And 'geezering' around in that ....Niiiice!

It has test until Feb and no real pressing issues. I have done the headgasket and clutch in the last 12 months and various other bits. Rusty in places but solid underneath and strangely it is pristine in the usual problem areas like the driveshaft tunnels and front chassis rails. The inside of the doors are rusty of course and no headlining because I ripped it out in a rage. £550?

Thanks JD ... Nice looking Saab .... Thanks for posting details.

If readies aren't forthcoming I may be in touch, although I've rather taken a

shine to that Jaaaaguar!... Wasn't looking for one,I don't need one but I do

need the cash and It would be totally bonkers of me to succumb ... yet it is very appealing ... Must be the Autoshite magic wafting over me!

I've got a Jag boner now. I must head on ebay to look at old Jags I won't buy.

I am probably going to be driving down to Birmingham sometime in the next couple of weeks to pick up some wheels for the Visa, so if the Xantia has not sold you can have a peruse over it and vice*versa.

I really really like the Jag but a Xantia Activa is one for the bucket list for me.

ACTIVA pics now added ... Albeit poor phone shots in a Mongbay stylee!

That Xantia looks lovely (as does the Saab). If it was a few months later I'd be interested.

Posted

The addition of pictures to the first post confirms that I'd happily do either of these vehicles repeatedly. Hell, give me a threesome.

Sadly, such activities would see me violently castrated, so for that reason, I'm out.

2.0 turbo petrol, the same engine I had in the XM, and it shifted when told to!

Lovely car! I took the XM to Jim too, his garage is fookin wonderful!

How many pedals dies it have? I've always wanted to tick the xantia box, but after ticking the 2.0tct box the only xant I'd swap the zx for will have the veg friendly one!
