Mr_Bo11ox Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 If this is still sat here in a months time, I'll have weighed it in already I'm afraid Vince70 and Micrashed 2

Lacquer Peel Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I would buy this, but it is not the car I want and it is too far away, yet I am compelled to comment on the thread.GLWTS, what more do you want for £325?

Mr_Bo11ox Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Roll up roll up!!! Had some gumtree ARSE FORAGER text me twice at 2am asking what tax and MOT were on this. I'll let him know at 2am in a fortnights time. Grundig, Jim Bell, Essex V6 and 6 others 9
Richard Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 There's a chance that he texted you once at a reasonable hour but his mobile phone service is thunderingly shit. None of the mobile networks seem to work reliably any more. Lacquer Peel 1
Cavcraft Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 ...but when you do reply just tell him you weighed it in in the end and got £80 for it, because you didn't hear back from him.. Danblez and Vince70 2

Vince70 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I can do better and swop it for a broken PS3 which only works every other Wednesday...
anonymous user Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 It seems to be a universal paradox that when there is a decent cheap car for sale nobody needs one and when someone needs a cheap car nobody has one for sale. Have you thought of doing a Mr Shitpeas style bonus ball raffle? EssDeeWon 1
Jim Bell Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I'd be in it to winnit. Cant afford to insure mind.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Do you know I've not had a sniff of interest in this although everyone seems to think its very cheap. The few people I have mentioned it to in the office (none of whom are at all interested in shiting) have all started mulling over buying it as a winter beater simply because it is an interesting comfy old car that is cheap enough to have pretty much zero risk involved. No one has actually stumped up any ££££ though so its still sat there. I might give it one spin of the bay next week.
HillmanImp Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Chap at work had this total shitbox Rover 200 with possible HGF and a knackered starter motor he was trying to get shot of. I told him to weight the fucker in, using Lankytim's inlaws much much nicer one as an example of how it will never sell. However he lobbed it on Auto-Trader and after only a few days a chap from Birmingham paid £60 for a train ticket to come up to Leeds, did not even test drive it and paid him £340 in cash and drove it home. - Shows what I know. I said to the chap selling it that the guy buying it must have been mental. If I looked I am pretty sure I could find approx 1,000 cars that were cheaper and better than his Rover for less money that were nearer Birmingham than Leeds. This is definitely one of them. The chap who bought it rang up the next day like complaining it wouldn't start so Tom told him to give the starter motor a whack. If he rings him up again to complain that its overheating, I am going to get him to point the poor chap in the direction of this thread.
EssDeeWon Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I would consider Autotrader as an option for shifting this, think its still £9.99 for cars under a grand and the few ive sold on there have all been gone for near enough the full asking price within a couple of days.
Stixy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 This could be a roadtrip adventure opportunity for sombody , Buy this and drive it to my place and swap it for my Peugeot then find sombody somwhere else to swap the peugeot with if they wanted etc etc , road food , hitch hikers ,anpr , WCPGW ? Do us a favour and buy this muutha fugga and potentially get a free disease Bobthebeard 1
Cavcraft Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Yeah, Autotrader defo worth a bash, as is Preloved.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Yeah I am gonna lob it on AT when i get off the Frank Zappa and get a few more photos organised
Anglevan Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 good luck Mr B - feel the pain, I tried selling my Lancer auto last year, couple of failed to show tossers on ebay, another promise to buy from another forum that failed to materialise. It's only when I scrapped it that I was inundated with, id have had that etc etc.Well it's now baked bean cans so tuff, hope the Mondeano has a better fate, it deserves it.
Lankytim Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Is there an online discount code I can use? BOLXMONDY50%SUMMERDISCOUNT doesn't seem to work. HillmanImp and laser wheels 2

Mr_Bo11ox Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Sold this tonight. managed to line up two gumtree dudes one after the other, the first 'please dont sell it to anyone' was a no-show, the second guy turned up, had a look over it, quick spin up the road, said it was exaclty what he was looking for and gave me £370 (15 more than I asked for) then drove it away. Lovely job!!! Must admit i'm surprised there was not more interest, but a V6 automatic mondeo is not at the top of many folks shopping list I suppose. This guy was really cool "Yeah I used to work in factories, but now I'm a musician (or a bum as some might say)" Cavcraft, Lacquer Peel, Micrashed and 4 others 7
dollywobbler Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Nice one Mr B. I hope your Gumtree ad was littered with hilarious spelling and complete misinformation. EssDeeWon 1
Vince70 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I hope the first buyer gets in touch again then you can waste his time and get him to come round then tell him you've just sold it for £100 because it needed a new wiper blade. I had a bloke come round for a nice little Escort Van I had for sale with 6 months tax and test for £150, the bugger tried knocking me down to £100 because it was smaller than a transit. He obviously got his Transit Van as I got a phone call 3 days later threatening all sorts as the engine had shit lot of cogs and bearings and pistons down the road. I had great delight in telling him you have the wrong number then he asked could he come round and buy the Escort to which I replied sold mate now buy yourself a new pinto engine. HillmanImp 1
