Nice knob.

OMG OEM+ M8.

I'd just like to add that I'm loving this van, it reminds me of my first taste of automotive freedom.

When I was in the first year of 6th form, a mate had a birthday on about the 2nd of September so was duly the first to pass his test.

He had a 305 estate in this exact colour and similar condition that had been used up their farm.

Happy days. Keep the updates coming.

Your van is bad and you should feel bad.

Alright, despite the speculation that this will probably cause, your knob is lovely.

OMGod, eight pages of knob van! This is reaching dolly wobble proportions now.

PS I preferred when your knob was wood.

Like the way you're both watching it like some kind of amphitheatre attraction.

It's pretty boss, is that.

The KNOB.  Is it HARD WOOD?  These things are important.

Yeah, we care about your van, you know.

Funny how it turns browner every day, though.

It's been a while since Year 8 woodwork. I don't know.

I like this.  I especially like the flashing light, and also the stripes, although I suppose I might like the stripes less if it was parked outside my house.

Further Knobvan Knews

Today I reassembled the thermostat thingy, filled in two litres of engine oil (new!), and after a few attempts, it started.

Mr. Conelrad then took it for a spin, with me riding shotgun, which led us to a jetwash.

To my surprise, an engine was hidden under all that gunk:

We also gave it a wash, which enhances the 40 shades of red, and also made it less sticky overall.

What the photo nicely conceals, is the amount of brown crumble, which increases every day.

If it continues at this rate, there will be a pile of brown dust, crowned by a lopsided orange beacon,

in about six weeks' time.

Oh, and I also fixated the battery.

If you ignore everything below the blue and yellow stripe, it really does look like a very good van.

Don't wash it, you can see the rust now! See what you've done?

Or possibly even Biffa skips.

Isn't that the name and description of the last bird in boozer on a Friday night?

No, it's a figment of your imagination. You've been eating too much French cheese.

Have you tried kicking it really hard? Or hammering a smaller knob over it?
