Another one of my show dumps! Bury Cars on the Green

Recommended Posts

Word. Got some more photos to share guys, todays exciting adventure was to the Cars on the green show at Bury St. Edmunds, To be honest it's the first time I'd done this show at it's current venue and for something that's totally free for everyone it's was pretty excellent.

I had arranged a club stand there for my little Facebook club and we had 15 cars in total, the convey to the show was fun!.

There was a large mix or cars there, from new Skoda's and Hyundais to plenty of classics and tractors, I didn't photo as much as i could have but here a few that I did get.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo, this GSA estate was stunning, it's been fully restored as it was pretty rusty.

The toy Jess on the roof of this stunning genuine ex post office Ital was battery operated and kept walking around, it amused me greatly.

And finally this RS1600i was mint, the lad loved it and it won best post 1972 car at show, totally original and unrestored with only 53000 miles.

You don't half get about to these car shows, eh Trig? Suppose it'd be criminal not to show off your Cortina in all it's glory. The only thing is, it's now spoiled all Mk3's that have side stripes, as I just can't stop noticing them and the way they cut the coke bottle styling up on the rear door. Apart from that, the green one is a beauty. Interesting to see two Mk1 Cavalier 2 doors, as I hear they're pretty rare. Not as rare as a 2 door Mk2 - seen one of those lately? I've said it before but I think that car shows are one of the main things I miss about the UK. That and car boot sales. And cars for sale at throwaway prices.

My dad would literally explode if he saw that ital van.

He spent 20 odd years as a van dealer buying mainly ex post office and bt vans.

Ha! yeah it seems to be like that at the moment! next Sunday I'm hoping to take the Cortina to the Retro Show at Santa Pod, not that I know if you can just turn up and display your car?

Great pics!

The Red E reg 3i looks bloomin good! That's a late MK3 Cav on an N reg and a late SD1 on an E reg, and in white which is rare, possible ex plod as they stock piled these in 1987.

sorry it seems I was getting confused I didn't realise that mk1 escorts where avl without big arches/wheels, rollcages, etc.

Ah! Yeah i see your point, refreshing isn't it to see normal ones!

You could be right as the Rover being ex police EssDeeWon.

Some really nice unmolested cars there, like that red 2 door Cavalier a lot.  Is the guy behind the yellow and black Capri a fisherman?

I am disappointed, I thought from the heading that it would be an activity involving digging large holes :(

However, a cracking set of photos, thanks for posting. That Alfa is the mutt's, is it ex-BTCC or a recent build?

Zoinks, and possibly zoinks again. The E reg' Vitesse has got me all giddy, and I now quite fancy a GTM Libra. My life is ruined.
