Well I managed to resist the charm of much cheapness for a whole day and had talked myself out of buying it,

I called the guy to tell him and by the end of the 5 minute call agreed to collect it tomorrow evening

pics to follow when I get it back home

Excellent, that's the Autoshite way of buying cars ! WCPGW ?

right then this is the bargain bucket dizzler that I have told you all about,

bad points,  brakes seem a bit well how should I put it shit,

good points, has longer mot than I was told its may 2015 its taxed and drives as you would expect a 200k car to, it comes with a set of new brake pads hopefully to cure said shit brakes, only one back door doesn't open not both and that's about it.

Mega barg. My guess is that long number plate will be hiding the holes from the square plate it wore before and the taxi badge.

Looks far too good to scrap. Won't the door issues be some tiny little spring that's gone ping somewhere?

ah I never thought of that will pop it of and have a looksy :-D

even if it is an ex taxi these things will do the mileage no bother. my mate runs one with 280k as an every day car. electrics can get a bit "funny" though.

If you can get to the door card without opening door! Looks a good old workhorse for the money

Is it a 90bhp or 110bhp version?  They apparently take chipping quite well, the 90bhp version can be chipped to about 105bhp while the 110 with the variable vane turbo will go past 130bhp with no bother.

I've owned mine for about 9 months now and it's not a car that I much like, but you can't deny just how useful it is.  Have you looked in the boot yet?  It's farkin massive, even without putting the seats down.

You can have Octavia-envy by looking at later ones with their rear wiper.

Nice. An afternoons work should see the niggles sorted out, then either keep it as a commuter or invest £20 at the local Latvian carwash and resell it. A diesel VAG car with almost a years MOT should easily double your money at the very least.

This car is for sale and if anyone wants it before I touch it speek up now.

Car cost £200

Jerry can of dizzle £7.92

So to keep other half happy and show a profit I would like £210 cash on collection plus a donation to a paypal account

SWP 4 PERGOT 106 M8?

Whoa is this grim, what an excellent buy!

Don't forget that VAG brakes are a shocker for anyone who isn't used to the ones of a '51 Studebaker.

yeh but can you press the clutch without touching the brake and head-butting the screen :-D

if it had been a 205 or even better a 305 then I would have took it.

You had a Stude, Junkman? Pray tell more.

PM sent....

Thank god... I was composing one too, despite the fact I have no need for the thing until September.

(It'd be ideal Irish wheels - Fit right in over here...)

Yes I did, but not the '51 which has to continuously serve as the prime example for shitty brakes for the past 25 odd years.

It was owned by a friend of mine, who had a Chrysler dealership in Belgium back then.

I took my first ever Imperial - a '61 - to him to look after the brakes, which I found woefully inadequate, even compared to the ones in the '60 Buick I had before,

which were shite.

He took my Imperial for a spin and once done, he made the EPIK statement: Dunno what your bloody problem is. Compared with my '51 Stude, this is Formula One.

The skoda should be of to a new owner on Sunday so now for round two of Bin or buy.

So I've had the dreaded call from a mate asking me if I want a light blue Fiat stillo 1400 with six speed gearbox on a 54 plate with tax and test to September runs well but has a slight exhaust blow,

are they any good and what are they worth?

To you, no more than the cash got back from flogging the Skoda, and probably at least an exhaust patch kit less

No point in throwing more money than that at a car that won't be better than the Octavia was.

A Stilo is a lot like a dose of the clap, there are a lot of people out there who've got one, and nobody out there who wants it.

I think you may be underselling the desirability of a dose of the clap vs a Stilo

Yeah, at least the clap means you had  some fun on the way....
