The (gold) 1979 132 made it to 1997, which, I don't need to tell most of you, is very, VERY impressive (man.. I`d love a 132 now...)

Possibly taken at the Pressed Steel factory in Castle Bromwich (now part of Jaguar's main assembly plant). They made trimmed Minx bodies - that were then shipped down to Ryton-on-Dunsmoor for finishing.

Hugely convoluted supply chain adding to Rootes costs. In the background are the latest Husky vans also stamped out by PF.

Note part-completed vehicles exposed to the weather.

Using a violent criminal to promote your product.

Interesting marketing technique.... 🤔

It is, I`m not sure if it`d happen now..
I also wonder what other period "celebs" they`d have considered for that ad.. I mean, Jimmy Savile could have been substituted into that advert quite easily..

I think it was linked to this ad campaign or a least possibly by the same agency. The three Ronnies.

It's not Biggs in the photo - it's Buster Edwards another of the robbers.

These days Savile would have been doing one of the many funeral ads.

Remember when Cd factors were a thing? These Darracqs are at the Dourdan speed trials in 1903, the cowls reduced 'windage' as they used to call it back then.
