I used to go the the Vauxhall dealer opposite it for parts sometimes, was a really antiquated building. I doubt it's a car dealer now, or if it is, it won't be a humble Vauxhall dealer..

Anti Poll Tax rioting on St Martin’s Lane London - 31 March 1990.

944 by the looks of it - and a Montego. The former a symbol of the capitalist running dogs - the latter but only if it's an MG Turbo.

Land Cruiser in front? Talk about Blood Brothers...

Frith Street in London. The Fiat 500 is a long drive from home - that's an Italian Province of Reggio Emilia plate. Super-rare Panhard too. Fiat 850 driving by possibly.

Ronnie Scott's jazz club still there.

Knew it seemed familiar. Lost the Stag at Ronnies, unfortunately the wife's BIL. He made it home late the next day 😁

Looks like a Range Rover Vogue to me, typical vehicle of choice for weekend jaunts in the West End at the time.

Not quite black and white, but here's another sprung wheeled vehicle - this bike, from the early 1900's, was adapted to make travelling across rough battlefields easier allowing rapid transfer of messages by dispatch cyclists.

The aviator Guillaume Busson has never got the recognition he deserves for his pivotal role in the evolution of full-width car bodies, as his Chenard Y8 testifies - a truly ‘Moderne’ design for 1927.

Try German WW1 issue during the period when rubber was not available to make tyres because of the Allies' blockade.

Wouldn’t that have been useful even if rubber was available? No issues with punctures from all sorts of debris or would they have used solid rubber in which case that’s a lot of valuable metal that could be used for weapons?

Rubber the Germans just did not have but metal they had a plenty.

Germany had terrible shortages of materials and tried all sorts of ideas (many unsuccessful) to get by.

"Sapper Martin" is the WW1 war diaries of Royal Engineer Jack Martin. In it He makes reference to the German bicycles with springs instead of tyres, he wasn't impressed.

Leeds early 1970's. The works to the left are the completion of the inner ring road.

Two great rivals - the Cortina and Hunter behind the Imp.

Incredibly - the Hunter was still in UK production (just) in 1979 when Chrysler sold out to Peugeot - but it was never rebadged a Talbot and production finished shortly after.
