The reason they can be slid together is because they are the rear halves of the alloy bodied GTA lightweight version of the 105 series Giulia Coupe. The alloy outer panels were glued and riveted to lightweight steel panels.

I spotted one once at a car show at Glamis Castle by it's little loop door handles and the riveted roof panel.

Interesting. I immediately thought they were Japanese but was not so sure about the car.  It was similar in principle to the German Phanmobile but the photo is of a Cyklon Cyklonette, also German.
