The pub was flattened in 1961, looks a bit different today (the line of ECW bodied Bristol K's pointed me towards Bristol).

Cardboard ladies in the showroom! That van (ambulance?) would already have been quite old in the mid fifties...

The Ambulance registration looks to be CPU500 to my eyes.

If so it was issued by Essex between July 1935 and September 1935

Blue oval near front arch, as per contemporary car models.

Earlier Thames 400E had the triangular badge as seen on the Mk2 Consul/Zephyr/Zodiac range.
