In those days, publicity shot models were the bosses' secretaries.

This could be yesterday, BMW riders are still a bunch of po-faced misrablists. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

Croeselaan,Utrecht, 1969.

The cars queuing are heading for a market square. Some days animals were sold and one day a week, cars. The market was open to all sellers and buyers. This group of gentlemen* are dealers trying to purchase the better cars before they head into the market place.

Not sure how late they stopped it but in the 60's every Jaguar that came off the line was road tested at least once in local roads before dispatch.

Prototypes were also regularly tested on local roads - as here - a favourite route was taking cars around the Coventry bypass.

Is that Browns Lane? The cars look strike-bound missing lighting components.

Not sure what's happening there - but it's the main gate at Browns Lane. Sir John Egan 3rd from left.

Now all a housing estate. Nothing remains of this remarkable location which sent cars to win - on this Le Mans weekend - three times in the1950's.

Looks like Aldenham, my Dad had an old publicity film on DVD showing how a bus would be taken apart, refurbished & rebuilt.

She's hoping the sultry "come to bed" eyes will get the RAC bloke to fix the Jag quicker..
