Upwards of 20 tonnes that, hard to say without seeing more of it, could be as much as 30. She's certainly down on her bumpstops.

He could be rustproofing the chassis members, easy access to all (the body, of course, is plastic). It looks like the two axle stands have pivots on them and he has some sort of wind up jack to lift it, with the addition of the tripod to take the weight. They only weigh 615kg so it should be perfectly safe, a truly professional job.

Possibly :-)

Wiki says Len Ganley was a Northern Irish snooker referee.  Died in 2011.

Was he the Ganley or the brother Ganley?

No idea - he was just the best known Ganley I know of, and the subject of a Half Man Half Biscuit song.

Hello - so moved to see this photo of my grandfather. He entered Daimler as a apprentee in 1911, at the age of 16, and spent his career in Coventry - Radford, after a 3 year interruption as a soldier during WWI, until his retirement in 1963. He is remembered for being the Engineering team leader of the Scout light armoured vehicle produced as from 1939.

I'd love a copy of this photo to share with my father who is 93, if you have it in better quality. Thanks for the sharing. Mike.
