Photobombed by a Leyland Tasman.

No... It's a Kimberley. That police car is NZ Transport dept traffic police, from the days when the regular Mr Plod regarded a speeding car as somebody else's problem.

I was sorting out some old mags in the loft when a 1956 edition of the 'Ford time' fell open on this advert.

Thought you all may like it. post-24187-0-22905300-1550077661_thumb.jpg

Yup you are right - the four headlamps give it away.

I was sure it was a Farina of some sort , but was amazed that they all seem to have a different dash set up !

This is the only picture I could find

Oh yes, told you they were all different!

It was the closest I could find , that wasn't wood trimmed, got a strip speedo or had heater control sliders.

Mark one 110s got round dials but a token strip of fake wood across the top half of the dash, most Mark twos had all-wood with a strip speedo (except the standard models, but we're in danger of nerding out here)

^ Thanks.

No danger of nerding out. All incoming nerdery this way.

Just to confuse things. mine has a metal dash, painted to simulate wood. Padded top. Slider heater controls round dials with the clock sitting above the steering column.

Like this. but without  the small extra dial next to the radio.

The 1966 Bugatti 101 Exner.

Surely someone at some point must have said (in French) "Look mate, that looks fucking shit, can you start again, s'il vous plait. We're not paying you good money to lark about you know. Now get back to your desk".

To be fair, it wasn't an awful lot worse than some of the home-grown stuff on that chassis....
