Shitefest swaps and buys

You can always tell the exile - they lust after the ethnic food! So, please can the Scottish contingent please bring me down (and I shall pay for just one off this order):

6 decent, non-Greggs morning rolls

4 local-butchers' slice of black pudding

2 non-Greggs pies

A fly cemetry on shortcrust

Payment at Shitefest?

Also, much as I'd love to bring the roofrack to Wales, I may not be able to fit it in alongside my pushbike.  Most of you know the size and shape of me: not a pencil-necked whippet!  However, there are some decent climbs out of Devil's Bridge - one is a cat 3 :happydance::bouncesmile: - and will probably take me the best part of 20 minutes to do, thus the push-bike must take pride of place in the back of the car to enable me to suffer so on it.

What else are people likely to bring to sell or to swap?

I'll see if I can procure such items before the fest; actually was going to PM you about it!

I've a load of books and old PC/Classics/Retro Car mags which are free if anyone wants them, and probably some Haynes manuals too.

*** EDIT *** Question only a Scotsman would understand... soft or crispy?

Posted

Crispy but not well-fired - is that the right answer?  I will try to remember my book of Bud Neill's cartoon masterpiece...

I have a pair of old-school giffer-spec towing mirrors.

One of them could do with a new glass but they work very well and don't blow flat every time a lorry goes past, like the ones that attach to your existing mirrors do.

Free to good home if they are collected at Shitefest, I'll only be taking them if somebody claims them.

I will have several models of the model kind and some magazine \ book overs - some priced at £several, others FOC.

Bagsy the Retro Cars please.

I'll be taking some car magazines, mainly Car but some other randoms. Don't particularly want anything for them, but if anyone has any food/drink/interesting shit to exchange that'd be nice.

Can also take (but won't unless anyone actually wants them): Military vehicle magazines, tractor magazines, Which? magazines (no car content), AWFUL records, VHS videos, etc. I'll probably throw them out otherwise but I don't wanna be taking them to Wales and back for no reason.

Ooh, sounds interesting... I like all of those things.

I will swap snap on diagnostic plugins for beer or beer tokens. Please let me know if anyone will want this as I won't bring it if I don't need to. Will do nearly all cars with 16 pin socket. Except Saabs . Engine , abs, airbag etc

Anyone fancy a maestro van as I might pop over with it on sunday if I am not too busy. I also have a launch X431 that will code read pretty much anything including mercs and old renaults. Maestro is all taxed and tested but still a scruffy looking thing with a horrid gearchange. Possible old renault purchase has put it on the market £400 or offers, may take a cheaper p/ex if it will get back as far as bristol

Morrisons do a passable scotch pie. Yum yum.

I trained the missus to make scotch morning rolls. She has them cracked.

Every time i go north though, I bring back six packs of snowball cakes, potato scones and a bottle of Scottish booze or two. And some bel haven best.

Could some of the Scottish arrivals bring some butteries .? I love them and miss them since I left Aberdeen.

Will swap \ give money for all missing issues of CAR I don't have.

Would some issues of Car Mechanics be of any interest?

I don't even know if I have any Cars you want yet, but hopefully will.  Catsinthewelder has them at the moment, I dunno what issues are there and won't til Shitefest. Hopefully he's arriving before you're leaving!

Right if anybody has these issues of CAR magazine and are willing to sell them at Shitefest for actual money then let me know!.

I'll swap beer (bottles of real ale) for cassettes if anyone has some spare. As the Cav has a stereo but I have no tapes it'd be good to listen to some tunes on the way home.

Somebody has a door for the Allegro. I keep forgetting who it is. If it can be gotten to Wales that would be quite helpful as it can come back in the Volvo.

Any yankers making it to the 'fest?

I still have a large box full of random US car spares for grabs.

If your 850 has a driver's side wiper arm that doesn't lift off the screen I'd be interested.

We might struggle a bit with that because we're all too far south but I'll see if I can find any.

You could always bring some bridies

Give coco7987 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/coco7987) a bell - he hasn't got many CARs listed at the moment, but he has a huge pile of them for sale, I got a lot of 'Eighties CAR from him.

I'll have February and May-November '91, and November '93 for you, if my en route collection goes to plan.

In fact I'll have virtually the whole '90s run spare.

EDIT - I think I have already put a spare copy of October '85 in the car as well (unless that's the one I gave to Barrett)

That went to Thailand already I'm afraid.

It was fine here, but still lifts off once fitted to my car out there. I'm wondering if the mechanism has twisted in the bulkhead away from the screen somehow.

Can possibly arrange that... what sort of stuff?

Was LankyTim, but dunno if he's going or whether he still has it and is willing to part with it...

I know you've already replied on the other thread Gary, but these are my missing CAR issues:

Will make a list of ones to keep aside for dugong and trigger (and myself, obvs) before offering the rest around. Will probably spend the first hour after arriving going through piles of magazines.
