I noticed that on Facebook, didn't realise someone had nicked the engine! Leyland Daf 45, a facelifted Roadrunner really, so a damn good truck. What was it, a horsebox?

Actually they ran it dry of oil, my mate and scrapyard owner is trying to talk me down which is saying something, says he's getting a longer one with good engine and to buy that instead. Will need to buy some land next!

FREEDOM! somewhere

Garage/ workshop or more living space, the partitioned wall could be hinged so it could swing open/ closed or removed altogether at the expense of a bigger space to heat in winter. But I've always fancied having a car in my living room.

That should (I think) have (had) a Cummins engine. The four pots were quite slow but they're superb engines, especially in 6 banger turbo format.

I think I'm gonna move into it.

Display your commitment to the job* by parking it in McDonald's car park.

You could even deliver their burgers to them, albeit in live form.

Factor in around £500-£800 for a decent Cummins 5.9, GR8 engines, tho if they ran it dry I suspect the rest of the truck is a shit box as well.

Already has more curtians than my living room, 2 double beds, dining table cupboard sink etc

With a bit of modification I could park a car in here:

Needs engine, you cant lift cab up so has to be dropped out the bottom. Not a nice job so I'm told and bloody expensive.

Tax is £165 a year

Don't know what insurance would be like.

Needs solar power hooking up, leisure batterys, needs tidying up inside especially the rear where horses were.

9- 20 MPG

I would need appropriate license.

Rest of wagon would need work for MOT as been sat, mate mentioned something to do with the brake load thing at back always seizing when they have been sat (I don't understand lorrys)

Anyone got any links to engines for sale? I've fired a few requests out on the ebay breakers

http://wjfurber.blue-sock.com/pages/page_8.php worth trying for an engine.

I would hazard a guess that most have been exported by now, as they were quite uncomplicated engines I was told.

*Edit: when did you pass your test? That looks like a 7.5 tonner so if you passed before a certain date you can drive one on a car licence.

Council taxed worse etc.

Shirley the land is worth more than £5k. Was someone murdered in it or something? Was it Sir Jimmys holiday home?

Just noticed its a guide price too. Will probably sell for considerably more (although would still be a steal at £20k).

Was it Sir Jimmys holiday home?

Sir Jimmy's holiday home fetched £212000, which is quite a lot to pay for a house when you factor in the extra cost of painting over the graffiti and replacing the windows every other week.

The guy who bought Jimmy's Rolls Royce makes me laugh, thought it would be an investment.

Try David Crouch at Market Harborough for an engine, the MOD 4x4 Dafs had the same lump.

I feel there must be better out there though Ed, granted horsebox tax makes mk 2 Escorts seem reasonable bargains.

Also intreged by the bungalow!

The area looks okay if it was scrubbed up a bit. Is that a pikey camp you can see out the kitchen window or noo houses?

I'd knock it down and park the horsebox there. Samba have you looked at the property auctions? Sometimes property that needs a bit of work/are in a demilitarised zone go through for not a lot of cash if you've got cash money available and don't need a mortgage. There's are flats in greenock and port glasgow you often see going for £9-£10000.

Failing that at least buy something with an MOT and its running!

I just looked at that place on the computer at work rather than the phone. Even if it does sell for £20k, you pump another £10k into it if you let it out for £250pm you are getting a 10% yield pre tax. Not massive bucks but a pretty good return. Would be interested to see what it actually sells for.

As loan rates are so low at the mo, you can even get a loan for about 4.5% at the mo from pretty much all the big lenders and pocket the difference. That loan rate is about the same as my mortgage one anyway.

Here's a another one at a 12 grand guide.. West Kilbride is even quite a nice place. The problem with the flats is you're semi liable for the roof and structure so if there's a pending £30,000 bill for the roof then you're going to have to stump up. The interior on this one doesn't look like it needs much. Looks shite outside mind you.
