yes, great book. However it somehow misses the fact that Yugoslavia was the source of much of the US technology at the time.

I was reading about that - The US buying up Yugoslavia's space programme - I wonder how much truth is behind it as I can't find much other evidence.

Actually, Tito cheated the yanks. The rockets were fake, nothing but inflated plastics.

The Americans went to the international trade court and Tito was condemned to give the money back. By that time, all the cash was already spent, mostly on women, more women,  young girls and luxury cars. The yanks threatend him to nuke his country if he wouldnt come up with the cash, so he had no choice but to pay his debts by delivering 3 years of Yugo production to the US. This is how the Yugo came to the US!
